Should Cardiff be targeting Ryan Woods?

Swansea City are interested in Brentford midfield metronome Ryan Woods, according to reports.

Sky Sports among others are reporting that the Swans want Woods to boost their midfield options this summer.

But should Cardiff be looking to scupper their rivals on this one? Lots of Bluebirds fans have been impressed with Woods in recent years and a move would make a lot of sense.

We certainly need more in the CM position than we have.

All the talk about getting grujic back,it,s seem to be stalling for whatever reason,how about a punt on Ross Barkley on loan from chelski seemed out of favour last season?

He's really excellent at what he does but definitely NOT the type of player that would suit us.

Very much a ball player, Warnock looks for physicality and energy (hence why he phased Whittingham out), and our midfield has definitely improved since Warnock came in.

He's a better player than Whittingham and offers more. Also he's somewhat more mobile and can adapt quickly to defensive and offensive play. He offers more than Gunnar son and I think Warnock could take to him.

Is he PL quality though?
Nobody going in for him apart from championship clubs it seems.

When we played Shrewsbury in a pre season friendly three seasons ago he was the best player on the pitch by a margin and I thought we should have signed him then. No chance of course with Russell Slade as manager and Brentford got in ahead of us. Not Warnocks type of player though too many sideways and backward passes but he is quality.
