Dembele - Ramsey swap!?

DEMBELE IN, RAMSEY OUT?

Arsenal are closing in on Barcelona winger Ousmane Dembele, according to reports in The Sun.

The club's summer spending looks close to being over - but the arrival of Dembele would provide a boost to Unai Emery, although The Sun reports the Catalan club want to take Aaron Ramsey as part of an exchange deal for the 21-year-old France international.

Ramsey was linked to Chelsea earlier this week and although Emery has said he wants to keep the Wales international at Arsenal, the Gunners are relatively blessed in central midfield, including Matteo Guendouzi, who impressed during the club's Asian tour.

It went out the window when we didn't put it in.

Although annoying at the time of the deal 4.8m all upfront was pretty unheard of and meant PR could keep gambling away our club

im pretty sure that a sell on clause would only be enforceable during the first contract, as soon as you renew its gone. we didnt have one with rambo but if we did it would be gone now surely.

If that was the case they could change a contract after 1 day. The sell on clause would always be there if we had one that is...

im pretty sure that a sell on clause would only be enforceable during the first contract, as soon as you renew its gone. we didnt have one with rambo but if we did it would be gone now surely.

Sell on clause has nothing to do with a players contract.

If Barca were to sell Dembele, they would make far more money than the amount they would have to pay to purchase Ramsey. Therefore, a straight swap deal makes no sense.

You're missing the point... If he stays at Arsenal then he will sign a new contract which will instantly increase his value.
If Barca wanted him then there's no need to sign one... Also, he's worth what Barca want to pay for him ( Dembele ).

Its all speculation but there could even be cash on top from Arsenals end..

I said over a year ago on this forum that Barca were interested in Rambo and i was told by people close to him.
The transfer embargo and the knocks and time away from game time played a part in this not happening .
Having said that Arsenal's new manager made a point from day 1 - The part/role he wants from Rambo .

I’m not missing any points. Dembele was bought for over 100 EUR last summer, and is 21. Ramsey is 28 and has 1 year left on his contract. In his current contractual position, Ramsey is worth no more than 40 mill.

Arsenal can keep Ramsey, and he could go for free in the summer. Dembele is worth exactly what Barca paid for him next summer, if not more.

It would make 0% sense to swap a player worth minimum 100% more, that you can get free next year. I would love to see Rambo at Barca, but no way is he going for a straight swap deal with Dembele.
