I’m told by a very good source that Troy Deeney to Cardiff City is NOT happening. Search for a midfielder still the priority.

NEIL WARNOCK is making a bold £15million bid to bring Watford striker Troy Deeney to Premier League new boys Cardiff City.

Warnock hopes to persuade the Hornets to sell their iconic forward and then talk him into helping the Welsh club fight for their lives.

The Cardiff chief thinks Deeney is the type of battling target man he will need in the uphill battle for top flight survival.

And Watford may cash in on Deeney now after he was squeezed out of the side on many occasions last season and is not certain to be a starter in this campaign.

Warnock wants to agree a fee for Deeney in the next 24 hours but may face a fight for him if an auction starts as the experienced forward has other admirers.

Cardiff are also refusing to admit defeat in their bid for Liverpool's Serbian midfielder Marko Grujic on loan.

Some people seem to slate him on here but he gets a lot of stuf right when it’s not even been reported, he’s definitely the most accurate on twitter.

Agree he’s the most reliable of those on Twitter.

I would say he gets well over half right which is a decent percentage.

If this story is true the striker in question could be Vydra who's move to Leeds has broken down

Definitely don’t think it’s vydra surely we would of just gone in for him before and no reason why we wouldn’t of just because Leeds had a bid accepted

I do follow Reluctantnicko does seem to get a fair bit right, seen things he tweets on the day get announced later on in the day with some clubs.

I really think Jay Rodriguez could be a really excellent signing and wish we were in for him, he could be the difference.

Lorente is quality. Might be 33 but would be massive competition for Kenny. Would he come given the JB connection though? Deeney is not dissimilar to Reid, he plays in a withdrawn role when I’ve seen him rather than a poacher or target man. Think wages for both could be an issue.

Yep, would be a hell of signing, in my eyes, if Warnock could pull it off.

well if the sun is to be believed (the feckin rag that it is, wouldn’t wipe my arse on it), that’s very ambitious of NW and Deeney has something to prove. Hope it happens, good player. Seems a good fit for us.
