Relegation Candidates

Mon Jul 30, 2018 9:40 am

Based on current squads what Premiership teams do you see fighting to escape the relegation places with Cardiff? Who do you see as genuine relegation material and what is your bottom 3?

Palace
Newcastle
Fulham
Watford
Bournemouth
Brighton
Southampton
Huddersfield

BOTTOM 3: Brighton, Southampton & Huddersfield

i wouldnt completely rule out Burnley either.

I personally think Watford, Palace and Huddersfield will go down, but im slightly blinkered with not picking cardiff

I agree Burnley may struggle a little this season.

Watford, Huddersfield, Brighton the 3 main ones.

Newcastle, Bournemouth Fulham, Palace will be in and around it. Southampton I think will struggle but then depends who they get in to replace Hughes.

i think Hughes will do a decent job there, at least at first. They have lost Tadic, which will be a blow to them .

Think you may be right there. Burnley picked up a lot of points at home last season and quite a few of those were 1-0. May have been sussed out this season and as yet they haven’t strengthened.

They also have a Europa League campaign.

I did sat Fulham will be in and around it.

I think Wolves will be ok once they settle, I think they may have a rocky start though with all the hype coming from their fans.

I'm surprised people think Bournemouth, is it just cos they are a small Club?

They have established themselves now, finished 16th, 9th and 12th last season, haven't lost anyone of note and have strengthened.

I would say us, Huddersfield, Newcastle (if they lose Benitez), Watford because how they run the Club is going to catch up with them at some point, Burnley (if Europe takes its toll), Fulham and maybe Palace as they have lost Loftus Cheek and Zaha don't seem to want to stay.

I think Brighton will be ok, Chris Hughton is a decent manager and strengthened well, as have Southampton.

I like Bournemouth, I feel they were starting to get a little stake last season.

All clubs apart from Top 6 are relegation candidates, remember Everton last season only saved by Big SAM? and Burnley who came 7th last season are definitely one!

Anyone can go down, I find it very unlikely West Ham will be in trouble this season.

Sean what about West Ham makes you think they will go down? The manager? the squad? both?

You might well be right actually.

The Racing Post have predicted them to go down as well.

Us, Huddersfield and Bournemouth.

True that, a lot of pundits seem to think whoever wins will lose to Istanbull Basaksehir in the next round anyway.

Burnley were poor over two legs so be interesting to see what they can do against Basaksehir.
