If we get any more defenders we are really Just giving out a wage for no reason. I actually think we could lose someone (I.E Connolly) and still be suitably covered. Steven Caulker was rated so so highly when we bought him last time we were up. We ended up shipping so many goals and now look at Caulkers career, he’s nothing to where he used to be. What’s the point buying names when we can just work WITH (not despite of) what we have.

I actually think Manga will shine in the Premiership. He’s a true ball playing, calm and confident CB. It was unfair last season to ask him to play at RB - I gave him a ton of crap for getting caught out of position. Since last season I realized that he was playing to Warnock’s tactics. Surprisingly, having been forced to play Manga at RB due to Pelts and Jazz being injured I am genuinely shocked the club has not bought/loaned a quality RB.

I completely agree regarding Manga. He’s a proper footballer and I remember when he first joined us and won MOM virtually every game with his calm defending and playing out from the back. Lately he’s been in and out of the team and mostly been playing out of position.

should really have signed another CB but its obviously low priority considering we arent spending much this season

I would like a CB as a 5th signing but for me the priority has to be Centre Mid x 2, striker, right back and in that order followed by a centre back.

Completely agree We supplement the squad we had last year we can't possibly totally replace it. NW has a limited budget and therefore has to prioritise his spending. He is happy to work with what he has got in defence and that is what great coaches do.

With regard to a RB we signed Patterson to play RB but he was much better in midfield so I think we could still do with another RB.
