When Bobby Reid scored some people were singing a song about how he "hates Bristol"
This massively talented YOUNG player has made the switch from the team which brought him on from a kid. Of course he loves that club and according to some press reports he's been getting a hard time about it from some Bristol fans.
He's got the potential to become Cardiff's biggest iconic player since John Toshack , grab vital goals in the forthcoming Premiership campaign and quite possibly in future contend for international recognition .
Now, I'd have thought we wanted to welcome him into Cardiff City's renowned unity and undivided team spirit rather than try to wind him up and make him feel like a traitor for joining us.
I don't know the boy, but I'd guess that he doesn't hate the place he's from or his family and that's not required for him to start to love Cardiff and play his heart out for the Club.
If those who do that song want to put him off his game and make him feel subconsciously guilty about scoring for Cardiff ( cause that apparently means he "hates Bristol")........ Carry on !
Maybe you can put him off his game altogether and he'll never score the scorching goals I fully expect him to.
Hey ....... Maybe you can actually get us relagated like that . Perhaps you could make up some chants to alienate Sean Morrison and Sol Bamba while you're at it .

No wonder we never get any new songs going.
It has to pass through the CCS PC brigade AND has to be true or we can't sing them.
It's starting to get embarrassing now.

I would imagine he is smart enough to rise above it or take it for what it is, if he was THAT passionate about it he would never have signed for us in the first place.
Ever since I have followed Cardiff we have sung anti English songs etc despite having for the most part a Club made up of mainly Englishmen. I can't think of anyone other than was it Spencer Prior was has ever made an issue out of it and that is a lot of players, staff and managers.
It's just terrace banter, not real life.

No, mate. You might have been singing anti English songs, but I wasn't, and as you even point out yourself you're supporting a team and a club which does and always has had players from all over the place . I can remember people singing anti black songs too, but that wasn't okay either. On that subject I can remember people chucking bananas at Clyde Best from the Canton Stand - terrace banter do you think ?
Someone said that its all okay because they used to sing the same song to Lee Tomlin - well that worked out great didn't it ?
Someone else said I was exaggerating his ability, but I did say POTENTIAL , and the boys got it in my opinion. Remains to be seen if I'm right, but let me tell you that people in other parts of the country ( Britain that is), are enthusing about it and I've heard people from a few big clubs remarking that they might have missed out on him.
Someone else again accused me of political correctness - well I don't believe in that and if you or anyone else wants to say or sing nasty spiteful b*****ks I think you must be allowed to do that, but equally if someone else suggests that you should have better manners and use your nut about the effects it might have, well they're allowed to tell you that too.

Wow, just wow.
How can you even compare singing racist songs and throwing bananas at people in the same breath as mild banter between rival fans is quite honestly absolutely staggering.
As I said, if it was a massive issue it would have been raised by one of the countless English men that's represented our Club over the years.
Similarly with Bobby Reid, I'm fairly sure if he was that uncomfortable with it he would never have signed for us in the first place or would say something himself rather than have the easily offended speak on his behalf.
Lastly, as someone who has a girlfriend of afro-caribbean descent I don't need anyone to point out to me the rights and wrongs of racism thanks.
