Dan Gosling in talks?

Fri Jul 27, 2018 6:00 pm

Have had some news today that Dan Gosling was down for a medical. Don’t know if Annis or anyone else has heard similar he plays for Bournemouth not really an exciting signing if true

May not be an exciting signing, but would be a very sensible one - if true.

I’m sure this guy was linked a while back. Mind you, so was everyone else.

Would be a decent addition, can play centre mid and right back 2 areas where we look weakest
and at 28 a good age

Just looked on the dreaded YouTube and he looks decent enough and to cover 2 positions that we need covering is a bonus.

I'd be more than happy with this

Would prefer Harry Arter or even better Tolgay Arslan.

Well what's happening with arslan? I thought we were on the verge of signing him? Looks decent anyway.

Gosling is a good player. Injuries played their part but he was more or less fit all last season. Always been a bit of what if for the toffees, soured by the contract run down. He can pass a ball that’s for sure. Deffo a Warnock type player.

Hope not he’s shit. Struggled to get in the Bournemouth team, we need a better player on loan bcoz we can’t afford better to buy.

Arslan is more than decent IMHO, he's a class above what we have :occasion5: would be a real quality signing :bluescarf:

Gosling is a very solid player with lots of premiership experience. I think he's ex Everton, possibly a product of their youth academy. Much better option than Arter in my opinion actually.
My understanding was that he was Sir Neil's first choice as the new midfield general but that the asking price was too high and that was the only reason he wasn't the first signing of the close season.

I'd be delighted if this were true because I really don't think there's a better choice for Cardiff City's particular needs and requirements at this time. If it IS true, he'll become a crowd pleaser I promise you.

Further to that, he's a lot lot better than Marko Grujik and he's the finished product.

He must be on the same medical as Snodgrass.

Spot on Jimmy. Gosling was picked up by the toffees from Plymouth argyle. We always liked the look of him at goodison, thought he was quality every time I saw him play. He was hampered by injuries sadly so we never saw the best of him. Then there was the contract run down - a bit sour that, but I thought he was the real deal. A bit like we feel about Tom Davies now. He’s sorted out his injury problems and as Jimmy says, he’d become a crown favourite with us. He’s a fine CM, with an accurate range of passing. Happy Anywhere in midfield and can play at RB too. He might not be a ‘massive name’ but he’s quality. I’ve said it before, he’s a Warnock type player and would be a very good signing.
