Absolute bargain. Now why are we not looking at players like this? This on a shoestring policy is going to be our down fall believe it.

I don't think having big debts is down to choice. That's where we are and we just have to accept it. I am sure Tan would prefer not to have had these huge debts, and not had to convert a lot of the debt into shares. It was made clear a long time ago that this club was going to have to live within it's means, and the club's future goes well beyond the end of next season (hopefully). It would be great to be in a position where shed loads of cash could be spent, but we went there not long ago and where did that get us? He has been caught out once, I doubt if a successful businessman like Tan will get caught a second time.

That's fair enough but I as a supporter of Cardiff city hope and pray we are not a yoyo side![]()
I would love Tan to sell to a man city type consortium and we challenge for the title every year. Yes and champions league football

I suppose that's the dream we all have. Would be fantastic, but I doubt if we are anywhere appealing enough for the mega bucks men to even glance in our direction. I think we will have to plod along like the Watfords and Bournemouths and Fulham etc., but Leicester managed it briefly so no harm in us dreaming of a moment of glory.

We clearly need a bit of quality in central midfield & another striker so for £10m Kouyate would be a bargain. I guess City may not want to pay Premier League wages. I just don’t get we went there not long ago and where did that get us? He has been caught out once. From memory we did not spend a great deal the last time around and a large chunk of the money was recovered from player sales. We also had the bonus of larger crowds, merchandise, etc. I don’t recall us ringing up huge debts as a result of our last Premier League experience last time and on top we have a large sum on promotion and then parachute payments. All of the promoted teams last season spent far more than the 24m we have spent so far. We do have a few weeks to go of the transfer window and that may well change. I personally hope that we give it a go this time rather than face the likelihood of relegation without going financially mad. A reasonable investment will pay divedends with 200m every year from Premier League survival.

We paid some big wages last time, and were stuck with some of them them for a while even though we were back in the Championship. I agree that a reasonable investment should pay dividends, but unfortunately no guarantee. We look like spending the least, and so most, if not all the other clubs may be considered to have made a reasonable investment. Even so, three clubs, irrespective of their investment, will still fail this season. Glad it's not my money that is being gambled, it is a fine balancing act and nothing is certain. Like I said earlier in the week, not long ago Man U spent £300m more than Leicester, yet still finished four places lower than them.
