Paterson right back?

Tue Jul 24, 2018 9:53 pm

Anyone think he can be our right back this year? Surely his defending cant be that bad?
Good season in the championship but gave away possession a lot in midfield and sometimes looked sloppy, cant get away with that in the premiership soni wouldnt be confident at all with him playing anywhwew near midfield this season... can he re find his form and be the right back we need? Opinions?

No, he’s a better wing back and is attack minded. Has always scored goals so Warnock was crafty to play to his strengths and change his position. I do see him as our RWB when set up with a back 3. Have a suspicion we might play 3-5-2 quite a bit as Cunningham is an excellent left side CB as well as cover for Bennett at LWB. Pato was a total pest as an attacking midfielder, he harried and pressed - which is something completely different. He’s such a handful, would be one of my first names on team sheet.

Never happen, Warnock has always said he can't defend, and Warnock wants his defenders to defend.

No chance. He keeps saying he can't defend so what sort of message does that send to him or the opposition if we stick him at right back.

He will play most the time as a number 10 imo. Maybe at times wingback or wide.
