What if Grujic doesn't come off?
The clock is ticking on Cardiff City’s transfer window, with less than three weeks until the August 9 deadline meaning it’s now crunch time for Neil Warnock and his recruitment staff.
The Bluebirds’ pursuit of Liverpool midfielder Marko Grujic is well-documented but the deal has hit a snag in the past week , making for a few concerns among supporters.
So what happens if the Grujic deal hits the rocks altogether? Cardiff still need an extra midfielder as their pre-season matches so far this summer have shown. Neil Warnock has admitted he is looking at other options.

Warnock has said he has been speaking to other players anyway, while we need to get players in asap 3 weeks is still a long time and id bet some very good players will become available towards the end of the window as more clubs buy and need to sell.

Plenty of time for Warnock to work his magic. The Grujic deal is frustrating. Whilst I know he’s been given extended time off after WC, a bit of me thinks that his agent is looking for a few extra quid or a perm transfer.
I’d welcome Marko back, but......
I’d much rather we look at young hungry midfielders like Ryan Woods, George Saville, Luke Freeman, Scott McTominay etc.
Warnock has said In last few days that some surprising players have become available. I think midfield not ST is a priority. Whilst I’m happy with a Ralls/Gunnarson partnership, I’d like competition and cover for injuries since we only have Damour now as cover. Pato might drop in there but he’s only just been converted into and attacking midfielder.
Don’t subscribe to view we need prem experience either. Too expensive, probably relegated, and not hungry enough. Plus this ‘prem striker’ we ‘need’.....doubt Tan can find 30m for him (and that’s if you can find one as Rondon and Grey are neither prolific or good value).
