If Henry was to go there I can't see it being as manager. Cartainly I can see him being put under Bruce's umbrella for the experience. What the plan is though I think we all can guess right here.

I think the opposite.
I don’t think Henry would take a job as a no.2 now. I think he’d want to be the main man for his next job.

Getting rid of Steve Bruce to bring in a "rookie" manager like Thierry Henry, first and foremost isn't going to bring any stability at all.
Say what you like about Steve Bruce, and my opinion of him is, if he'd been a bit more adventurous in his tactics, then Villa may well have been back in the Premiership.
A lot of the mistakes made at Villa were made when Di Matteo went on a buying spree and bought garbage players on astronomical wages.
I truly believe that if the new owners go with Thierry Henry, then it could get a lot worse before it gets better.

For an outsider, this is a pretty accurate assessment that most Villa fans would agreet with.
The problem is that the overwhelming majority of fans have just about had enough of Bruceball. It was just about bearable with the carrot of promotion as part of the package but he's been with us for almost 2 seasons and the prospect of another season with him at the helm is daunting. Had the new owners not stepped in, I agree that the stability and experience that Bruce brings was the best way forward. However, now the financial issues have been resolved and it looks like players are going to be coming in, time is right to go in a new direction.
Who is currently available as a manager? There aren't many out there so is Henry any more of a risk? He has the nucleus of a good side and will bring in a few good players as well.
As you say, Bruce is not adventurous and sets his sides up not to lose. That is why we finished 4th & not 2nd last season - The squad Bruce had, he should have shown more faith in them to attack, rather than be negative and concede possession. If you don't have possession of the ball, you aren't going to create chances.
Yes, RDM wasted the lions share of the transfer budget but Bruce is equally guilty when it comes to players on big wages. Lansbury, Hogan, Taylor and Bjarnason were all bought by Bruce in January 2017 with the claim that they would hit the ground running in the 2017/18 season. None are 1st choice and none are likely to move on, given the wages Bruce has them on.
Henry will have support, he will not be a lone figure but most importantly for me, he will be playing football how it should be played, not like some dinosaur who has the tactical nous of a slug.
