Warnock Signing Marko Grujic on Loan

Fri Jun 29, 2018 4:11 pm

Like I said a while ago, it would have been nice to show the club what the fans think of Grujic. I don't think there's anyone who doesn't want to sign him. There's either the half who think he's an absolute rock and a key player in the midfield, and the other half are indifferent and don't mind if he signs or not mainly because they haven't really noticed what he's been doing other than losing the ball in key areas literally 2 or 3 times in 11 games (Which is laughable really because 1: That's not really many times considering, and 2: We've only ever conceded from him doing that once and even that wasn't completely Grujic's fault).

The way Warnock is speaking the Fact is we are only signing ONE more midfielder for next season, so this isn't a debate on how many midfielders you think we need to sign, it's a debate on;

Who would you rather sign for the premier league season.

1:Marko Grjic
or
2: Some other "experienced" midfielder who will be available on loan so most likely someone in their 30's...

Sorry but I choose the 22 year old 6'4 fast, energetic, skillful, hungry & talented Serbian who has alot to prove after not even appearing off the bench in the world cup AND who has also a half season with Cardiff already so knows exactly what's required of him.

Really pleased that Warnock is going forward with the Grujic deal, really hope it happens.

I’m sorry but Grujic isn’t the answer, he isn’t mobile enough and will be a red card waiting to happen when he loses his head when not having the mobility to get near Premiership midfielders. Sheffield United away in particular, he was 5 yards off his man, unable to track midfielders bursting past him into dangerous positions.

I want Ryan Woods, he’s a different class, a far superior player to Grujic. That’s the calibre we need to compete against Premiership midfields imo. Bournemouth’s midfielders will really run rings around Grujic with their quick passing and movement.

Much better out there.
Oh and gunners should not have been given a contract nowhere near prem quality.

Don't mind him but rather we went for 3 new CM than him and Gunner.

Stop faffing about and go out and get Robert Snodgrass he would run
rings around anything we have got.

People are so short sighted. Grujic was well off he pace last season and reminded me of Hoilett when he first came(knew he had the goods but not quite there due to fitness) but after a good pre-season was immense last season.Sometimes all you need is a chance, just ask Joe Ralls.I trust Warnocks judgement on this guy's potential and for that matter Klopps too.I think Gujic could turn out to be the kind of player we couldn't afford to buy under normal circumstances a bit like Drinkwater.

Great delivery on him, very much like Whitts but has no pace, very much like Whitts. ;)

Well done Mugs, totally agree. Ryan Woods wouldn't go amiss either.

Grujic came to us without consistent first team experience and settled well considering. He’s not going to play 14 games in the championship without learning a few things first.

I’m all for getting him back on loan. He’s young, hungry and probably has the most technical ability in our squad.

He’s a cracking player. Strong in the air, good passer and monilexwith the ball at feet (despite what some have said - he’s very difficult to disposses). He’d Fit in nicely as a prem player with Ralls and Reid buzzing around him. Hope he signs.

Would love to see Ryan Woods next to him mind!

Hoilett has the best technical ability in our team.

Massive fan of Hoilett but I think Grujic is a more complete player so I’d say he possesses more.

I don't think he done a lot last year for us, can always improve mind.

In all fairness, Grujic never had a preseason with us and arrived off the pace in January. His lack of fitness cost him a yellow card or two, but with each game I felt he showed the glimmers of what he truly has to offer. I’ve commented before on how crucial his heading was for us in winning the ball (no other midfielder on our books has that attribute). I think he would be an incredible signing for us. I’m not usually a fan of loan players in starting eleven, but after seeing him fly back from Serbia just for one day to celebrate promotion with us - he gets my vote! Hope Warnock gets this and another CM over the line this week. Shaping up nicely!

Agree with you mate , really think he will thrive in the premiership with a bit more time on the ball and again another player who is going to be a nuisance for opponents at set pieces . Noticed as well last season he isnt afraid to take a shot and strikes the ball very well and could see him picking up a couple of important goals for us .
