Madine to Sheff Weds?

Fri Jun 29, 2018 1:08 pm

No, I'm not in the know.

Just seen a thread on the other board about it! Something on Tweeter apparently.

Good idea do we think?

Can't see us getting much for him.

hopefully a swap deal involved....

Barry Bannan
George Boyd
Fernando Forestieri
Jordan Rhodes
Ross Wallace

I think all of the above would be welcome additions to the SQUAD...

Don't want any of these.

Brilliant, fingers crossed

I would do a straight swap for Forestieri any day of the week.

Hes a quality player who could easily play at a higher level and is exactly the type of player we need, his passing ability and dead ball delivery is one of the best in the championship.

Totally agree, Forestieri is a decent player.

The rumour was on Twitter this morning. It came from a Sheff Weds site.

Despite his poor form in recent seasons I would welcome a swap deal for Jordan Rhodes.

In the right team I think he could score goals and he's the type of out and out poacher we could use from the bench in certain games.

Adam Reach is the only one I’d take from Sheffield Wednesday.

I'd take Forestieri regardless of any swap deal

I shouldn't say this (And I say that purely to sound important)

But we are swapping Gary Madine for Sam Winnall in LOAN deals.

I hope we keep Medine, think he had a role to play.

My opinion is obviously no better than anyone else's and I would never profess to be a 'Football expert' but sometimes I scratch my head and think.

People keep saying we need a goalscorer yet Madine scored more goals last year in the Championship than Zohore predominantly playing for a team in the bottom 4 whilst Zohore played for a team barely out of the top 2.

We then signed him and only started him in 5 games, the other 8 came off the bench and almost every time he did a job.

Yet Zohore is rated at £20 Million plus and Madine is a donkey who some would be happy to get rid of.

I honestly don't get it on the basis of what I have seen of both players so far.

Agree totally I think give him a chance he will come good.

I think he was vilified and his every wrong move/shot intensified because of the situation we were in, if we'd been mid table I don't think there would have been half the pressure and expectation that was slammed straight on his shoulders.

Madine won’t be going anywhere.

I love these statements.

You know this how? For me, I’m not arsed if he stays or goes tbh but, you can’t make these claims with no substance whatsoever.

Don't be so pessimistic; have a bit of faith. I'm getting excited anyway, although I've had so many disappointments in my life

It’s called an opinion. If posters on here had to have substance before posting something there would be about 3 posts a day.

I know it sounds crazy but on this occasion my substance comes from reading what NW was quoted as saying on the BBC site. I know this isn’t as reliable as hanging on to vague rumours about the likes of windass and snodgrass or a hundred other players we are apparently linked with but he’s the only real source I tend to believe.

Of course anything can happen yet. Perhaps if we get a good target stiker in maybe he’ll be loaned out, or if a big offer comes in that suits both parties then he will leave. At this moment in time I think he’s part of NW’s plans.

Cheer up! I've got great news for you; I think he'll be going. He will get some respect from me for helping us out last season but we need to move on. All the best for the future Gary

As far as I'm concerned he can go tomorrow; why wait till Wednesday?

Agree with you on this one. No way is he a premiership player.

Agreed, too slow and couldn't finish a fredo. Plus his head clearly went after that penalty miss. He's a mid table championship player at best.
