Me too he was excellent, Swansea should have not demoted him but now he is assistant coach, not quite as infuential as assistant manager but he is at least involved with the first team.
I still think they are going to struggle

By all accounts, he's actually been in charge of the team for more games than most of their managers over the last few years.
Shouldn't jest, but it's probably true.

Lovely guy, used to drink in The Griffin in Pentre, just up the road from me. He used to take all the wind-ups in good grace, being the only jack in there. I think it's just an appointment to try and get some of their fans back on board, think it's a mistake myself, but it will get some of their supporters in a better mood!

Anyone knocking around / playing in the the Welsh football scene in the 90's would have come across Curtis. Not only his time at Barry but also active in the local scene and attending many games. He was and is a true gent. A lovely guy with a lot of time for everyone, Talked about his time at city very fondly. but made no apologies about being Swansea through and through.

I think Swansea have mistreated him and should have at various times given him the managers job permanently. It's a credit to Curtis' character that he has been humble enough to step aside while idiots are put in charge ahead of him.

On the other hand people knocking around the same scene will also have come across Leighton James.. who is the complete opposite of Curtis. What a horrible, angry b*stard he is. I remember the swansea youth team telling me what an absolute cock the bloke was to them. Shouting and spitting and almost giving himself a heart attack.

I had a pint with him there some time back. I remember playing sunday league games there and ending up in the Griffin. Used to like it as it was primarily city fans. I hear they are knocking it down though.

Yeah, he was always in there when his Dad was still alive. It's sadly being turned into flats-just what Pentre doesn't need tbh. It's closed because the landlord was useless, rather than the usual reason of no one was going there. In the right hands, it would still be a very profitable boozer.
