CONFIRMED BOBBY REID IS A BLUEBIRD
£8mill, plus £2mill extra if Cardiff stay up
The former-Bristol City forward has signed a four-year contract that will run until the summer of 2022.
The 25-year old scored 19 times in the Sky Bet Championship last season, while also providing seven assists.
Bristol City star Bobby Reid is reportedly undergoing a medical at
Cardiff City today after the Robins' Severnside rivals agreed a deal for the player.
Wednesday 27th June 2018
TEAMtalk state that Cardiff have agreed a £10m deal with the Robins for the player, who scored 19 league goals last season.
The news will come as a blow to fans, coming just a day after the Robins agreed a deal to sell talismanic defender Aden Flint to Middlesbrough.
Reid is out of contract at Ashton Gate next summer and, after a stunning campaign last year in which he was also named in the PFA Championship team of the year, he has generated plenty of interest from other clubs - especially having not yet put pen to paper on an improved deal that the club offered.
Derby County and West Brom have both been linked with a move for the 25-year-old Bristol-born forward after he was at the heart of everything good about Lee Johnson's side last season.
Yet the newly-promoted Bluebirds appear to have stolen a march on Reid's suitors by agreeing a deal with the Robins for the player.
Earlier this week vice-chairman Jon Lansdown said the Robins would not stand in the way of players leaving if their valuations are met.
Speaking to BCTV, he explained: “Bobby scored 20 goals last year which was an incredible achievement and there’s an obvious value on that, so it’s not surprising he’s being linked with clubs.

It'll be with add ons don't you think? If we stay up who cares? If we go down we've got a strong player for the following season.

Ried had a great season last year but before that I cant see much that rates £10M

probably
but i care, i want to see the club spending sensibly.
if the figure is true there cant be a whole load left and still need at least 2/3 players.
but still, could be a good signing this

I don't think Tan has capped our spending. Whatever Warnock thinks he needs I think he'll get ( within reason )
Only time will tell but I will trust Warnock

I seen him linked with wba for 6 million earlier this season... I really hope it’s not a £10 million fee upfront

Perhaps we are selling a few players to make up the budget?

Absolutely buzzing at this signing, he is a very talented young player.

Yes.. He's always been a decent winger but last season was his first season as a striker.
Interesting that Warnock's three outfield players he's signed have one thing I common... Bags of pace.

Hard working forward and can pick up goals ken can't I hope this works out
Wed Jun 27, 2018 11:17 am
Please please don't be true, one good half season and he's out of contract next year for £10 million in sorry but he's not worth half of that!
Wed Jun 27, 2018 11:18 am
Counter attacking all day and every day, add NML, Ken and Junior, more pace in the side than we have had for years.

Top end championship goal scoring 25 year old English lad is always going to be pricey
Probably 10 mill with appearances, england caps and non relegation clauses...
Undoubtedly their best player and in the top 10 of the championship last season.
Hope this is true

Markets crazy these days. If Tom Lawrence is 'worth' 7m then I'd say this guy is 'worth' 10m.

The price tag is bit steep for someone who has 12 months left on their contract. Surely 4 to 5 million max.

Again one good season? Eoin Doyle was leading scorer in league one with more goals than that does that mean he was an £8 million pound striker?

In fairness they went to recently relegated villa who had more money than sense and now look at the mess they're in.

But that's not league one though. This is the championship. We have to be real and accept that the market is inflated massively.

Good player, especially if we come down next year and given his age I think his re-sell value should be high .
Hardly think we are looking at the next ACORN , guy can play several positions and knows the back of the net
Wed Jun 27, 2018 11:36 am
Had a feeling Warnock might go in for him the way he has been spending.
Seems a lot but silly money is flying around all over the place and lets be honest the reported transfers rarely seem to be true value these days. Undisclosed so the selling club can make out they have a great deal to their fans.
