He is building a quality squad which may take 2 years to assemble.
If we go down we need to bounce straight back up and the players he is bringing in will allow us to do that.
Why do people want us to blow a load of money on what would be a gamble after all our previous financial issues.
I would rather Warnock build a quality young squad which is too good for the championship and bounce for a few years than pay over inflated prices on big names and be in trouble again.
I agree we need some premier league quality but i would rather that be through a loan deal the first year and if we stay upnwe then would have more money to strengthen further with higher quality

Warnock needs to stay for 2 reasons
1= players he signs allways want to play for him and have a team ethic
2= if we did come back down who would be the best manager to get. Us up
Yes neil warnock
So get off his back and support him ffs we are very lucky to have him

I don’t argue with anything you say, maybe he should have walked?
Retired on a high, would have been a good ending for him

Sounds like you’ve come to terms with relegation already lol, head in the sand?

We all thought it’d be many many years before we’d ever see premier league football again, but by some miracle we’re their, and tbh I’d like to stay there so I want us to sign 3 premier tried and tested players (we don’t have to break the bank) and a quality striker asap. Loosen those purse strings Tan if you want to stay up.

Past years promoted clubs have come back down and only the ones who keep their best players have gone straight back up but times have changed and now managers are planning for both scenarios as is NW that to me is good management and preferably do it his way than mm way? Sacking NW certainly not way to stay up thats for sure considering what he as built at city

I find it annoying that people quote what they think they've heard to get a point across.NW at any time hasn't said he's not good enough to manage in the prem."Not a fair crack" is the expression that comes to mind. The premier league is full of players from lower leagues that were given a chance by a manager the most famous at the moment must be Vardy.

Good post I agree totally. Believe it or not he has my backing 100%, would just like to see some premier tried and tested quality added, if possible.

3 players with premier league experience,
1 striker £20 million wages £50k a week
2 midfielders £15 million each on£45k a week
IF WE COME BACK DOWN would have to sell them as we could not pay those wages in championship
Would these 3 signings guarantee survival in premier ( I doubt it )
Would they de harmonise our squad (probably)
Teams who are guaranteed to stay up next season
The likes of man utd , man city ,pool ,Chelsea,Spurs etc will be buying and paying Thier players in wages more than we can afford to pay to buy a player ffs
It has to be a minimum 5 year plan
First year survival
2nd year survival
3rd year couple of places above survival 14 th would be good
4th year if still on target just outside 10th
5th year dream dream dream top ten
Honestly I don't get this spend spend spend and all will be ok
It's not how much it's who we get
Time will tell

I share your concerns re the lack of ‘quality Premiership signings’ to date but there is still time left in the window. I believe however that NW has worked miracles at the club and I was delighted when he was signed up by City. He totally deserves another crack at the top level.
It is vital that we invest in this first year. The rewards of staying up (200m) far outweigh the thought of being frightened to invest 40-45m of the 180-200m that your are going to get. That’s why ‘big clubs’ in the Championship invest so much to try and get up. I don’t agree with some fans who say it’s ok we will just bounce straight back up. It took us over 50 years to get there the first time! What’s the point of achieving promotion if you don’t give it a realistic chance of working. There is no such thing as bouncing straight back up, it rarely happens. I would rather invest wisely and hold onto the Premiership. Think we need to bring in a couple of quality midfielders and a striker and possibly a right back. It is vital that you survive the first year.

I can’t argue with that, but we could the players we need for maybe a bit less, and NW is a master at getting value for money, as you say time will tell.
