City's pursuit of QPR star Alex Smithies means for Neil Etheridge
The Premier League bound Bluebirds have been linked with a transfer for the highly rated goalkeeper

Neil Warnock's desire to sign a goalkeeper this summer has perhaps gone under the radar.
The Cardiff City boss, when setting out his stall for the transfer window, identified central midfielders, a full back, striker and wide men as his primary targets after promotion to the Premier League was secured.
There was no mention of a new goalkeeper, more a nod to the brilliant form of Neil Etheridge in 2017/18 than anything else.
But there were always those Bluebirds fans who wanted extra support for Etheridge between the posts in the shape of an experienced, proven shot-stopper.
Sam Johnstone and Wayne Hennessey have been mentioned in dispatches, but the rumours linking Cardiff with a £4million swoop for Queens Park Rangers goalkeeper Alex Smithies have grown strongest.
It now looks likely that Smithies will become Warnock's third signing of the summer, following Josh Murphy and Greg Cunningham.
