New train franchise!

Mon Jun 04, 2018 5:29 pm

Just looked at the proposals for routes ect ect and looks as if the rail network doesn't exist west of Swansea? As only thing can see that involves Pembrokeshire/Carmarthen is 1st class to be introduced from Swansea to manchester which is odd considering train runs from Milford haven to manchester!! :o

Still the only country in Europe without a north south rail link, where you have to enter another country to travel the length of the country. Still a third world service!

I see the abandoned rail lines throughout Ceredigion that used to go North now only go in strait line Pembrokeshire to Cardiff!! Have sent E-mail to relevant person asking if west wales exist in the new train franchise? We regularly have just 2 carriages on Milford train so it's standing from hwest to Swansea!! :o

I use to live in a little village 20 miles from Aberystwyth, absolute nightmare for public transport.

North of Carmarthen there use to be a line going up to Aberystwyth decades ago and this needs to be brought back imo, impossible to get up from carmarthen after buses finish mid afternoon if you dont drive which is f*cking the economy of mid wales up to no end.

Live in cardiff now so cant complain about additional rail services i suppose but are they really needed? easier to just chuck a couple more trains on the line and pretend you are sorting the issue out rather than actually properly investing in new transport infrastructure though i suppose.

Completely agree, I live in Tenby and if I miss my train to university in Swansea, I have to wait around 2 hours just for another one! West Wales does always seem to be neglected.

I noticed KeolisAmey are adding users forums which never existed until now.
