The chase for Didier Ndong could well be set to continue, despite the player previously looking destined for a move to Serie A.

According to Gabonese outlet iSport , Cardiff have bettered Torino's offer of £6.6 million, adding that the player himself would prefer to stay in the Premier League.

Is it gonna be a choice of one of Ndong or the besiktas lad? Surely not both.

Not sure which I'd prefer. Both around 7m.

Cardiff City stump Turino in bid for Sunderland midfielder Didier Ndong – reports

04/06/18

Cardiff City have moved ahead of Serie A side Torino in the race to sign Sunderland midfielder Didier Ndong.

Neil Warnock met with Vincent Tan this week to discuss potential transfer targets and his transfer budget for the Premier League, with two potential signings being lined up.

The Italian club bid £6.6m for the Gabonese international but Cardiff has since bettered that according to ChronicleLive.

It is believed Cardiff have made a bid of £7m for Ndong, £400,000 more than what Torino have offered.

The player is keen to stay in England after making the move to England when he was a club record signing back in August 2016. He was since relegated with the Black Cats and joined Watford on loan in January but failed to make an appearance for the Hornets.

The Bluebirds were linked with a move with Besiktas midfielder Tolgay Arslan this morning, along with a possible loan extension of Marko Grujic.

Cardiff City defender Bruno Ecuele Manga is his national team mate, with the pair both playing for the Gabon national team.

If we are going to sign him I would like an answer to the question why after being loaned to Watford in the January window did he not play a single game for them? Was he injured, did Watford think he was not good enough, were there disciplinary problems. The whole thing seems rather strange.

Perhaps Decoure and Coupe two top players kept him
Out.

By all accounts Watford signed him on loan to cover players who were injured however after they agreed to sign him he got sent off, so served a 3 match ban once he joined Watford, once this ban was up players had already returned from injury hence why he didn’t play.

Personally happy to give every player a chance, if Warnock sees something who are we to judge, but I’d prefer that Turkish player Arshan, he looks an absolute handful.

Sometimes certain players faces don't fit. We have had it at Cardiff, OKeefe never given a chance as the manager doesn't like him. Hoilett at QPR was training with the youth team until Warnock brought him back in. Players and managers fall out for all kinds of reasons, maybe he wasn't even the managers choice. If Warnock thinks he can get something extra out of him then its the type of player I think we will be in for.

That was probably the ban he got when he got sent off against us!

This lad keeps getting relegated. I dont fancy him, but if Neil sees something in him thats good enough for me.

Id like that lad from Millwall - George Saville. The boy scores goals.
