The arrival of Fabinho is evidence that Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp is busy working to improve his squad.

But the German has another matter to think about - the players that have returned to the club from loan spells.

Daniel Sturridge, Divock Origi and Lazar Markovic were among those to be loaned out, with various degrees of success.

One man who benefitted from his time away from Anfield is midfielder Marko Grujic.

The 22-year-old was loaned out to Championship outfit Cardiff City in January and he would do enough in his 14 appearances to earn a spot in Serbia’s World Cup squad.

Cardiff also secured promotion to the Premier League, so it was a successful season for the Bluebirds.

Now, Klopp has to decide what to do with Grujic.

LIVERPOOL'S PLAN FOR GRUJIC

Fabinho and Naby Keita’s arrivals are a problem for the midfielder and according to the Mirror, Liverpool plan to send him out on loan once again.

Cardiff manager Neil Warnock is reportedly a “big fan” of the Serbian player and could attempt to re-sign him for the 2018-19 campaign.

With Fabinho and Keita added to a midfield group that already includes Jordan Henderson, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Georginio Wijnaldum, it makes sense for Klopp to send Grujic out on loan again.

He would find regular football incredibly difficult to come by at Anfield.

The news has got Liverpool fans tweeting.

Some would like to see Grujic given an opportunity in the first team, even if he's used as a squad player.

Others think a loan move to a Premier League club would be wise.

But Twitter user @jivk3 wonders whether Liverpool even need to keep Grujic.

There is still a hope that Grujic has a future at Anfield.

He was one of Klopp’s first signings, arriving from Red Star Belgrade in 2016, and the Liverpool Echo claim Grujic is rated by the club.

Grujic will have learned a lot under Warnock, who he claims is similar to Klopp.

"In some respects they’re really similar and have really good relationships with their players," Grujic said in March.

"They try to send their passion to us. I learned a lot under these managers, the two styles of football is different but as a young player you need to learn as much as you can."

Grujic’s immediate future will become clearer after the World Cup.

Regardless of what happens, a move to Cardiff would ensure he gets to stay in the Premier League.

Wouldn’t mind him developing in the #6 and be able to rotate with Fabinho in the following season.

He has a snide side to his game too. #LFC

Anywhere Grujic gets regular first team football in the Premier League is good, but I'd rather Fulham than Cardiff

I am sorry but do we even need him?An absolute masterpiece of a midfield no way he is getting even for the cup games

Think we need much better than Grujic if we are going to compete in the Premiership. He couldn't command a regular place for us in the Championship.

He just isn’t mobile enough, doesn’t have the pace or the engine to track runners and he doesn’t suit our high energy, high pressing style; which will be vital next season when playing teams of superior quality.

I want Ryan Woods!

Marko Grujic: Has joined Liverpool from Red Star Belgrade

Liverpool are looking to send young midfielder Marko Grujic back out on loan next season, according to a report.

Grujic joined from Red Star Belgrade in 2016 for £5.1million and was immediately loaned back to the Serbian side, before spending last season on loan with Cardiff City.

The 22-year-old was a key member of Neil Warnock’s squad which earned automatic promotion to the Premier League.

According to the Mirror however, his performances have not been enough to convince Jurgen Klopp that he is ready for first-team action, and that the German boss will look to loan him out again.

The arrivals of midfield duo Fabinho and Naby Keita at Anfield are likely to be the main reason behind Klopp’s decision, as the former Dortmund boss cannot guarantee subsequent game time for a player he rates highly.

Cardiff are reportedly keen on securing a return for Grujic, who was named in Serbia’s 23-man World Cup squad.

I wasn't over impressed with him but could see he had quality. May be a useful addition to the squad but fringe player only. We need two proven premier league midfielders if we are going to compete.

Tend to agree, the one position that nerds addressing is that's between Gunner and Grujic. We need better than both or at least someone more mobile.

Not for me think he got over run at times and always looked to play simple balls .Never carved open a defence with any quality.
Didn't bowl me over defensively ether.
Do ok for us but think we need better at this level

A full pre season and he will be a better player under NW.
Undoubtedly has quality but can he deliver?
We did have that fantastic run with him in the side and could see him alongside Ralls.
My only worry is he always makes a simple mistake for which he tries to recover , normally ends up in being booked.
You would think that he could only get better under NW.
With the market we are in, I think we will take a chance with a season loan.

Absolutely spot on..he is definitely a decent player

A World Cup campaign and a full preseason with a squad of players he already knows will do him the world of good

Players like him are the market we are in..he’s not the finished article and he is obviously a hot head, but I would certainly take him back on loan

I can't understand City fans that wouldn't want him looking at the players we currently have here in central midfield, it's like some City fans are allergic to players with technical ability and that can pass ball forward 10 yards without having skids running down their legs.

Well we’ll soon know if Warnock rates him by going back in for him on loan. We would probably be favourites to sign him but I’m not so sure our manager fancies him. I certainly don’t and think there’s much better available out there.
