WHO WILL BE LEAVING CARDIFF CITY :bluebird:

Neil Warnock has already trimmed the fat from his squad and the return of several loanees — Yanic Wildschut, Jamie Ward, Armand Traore and Liam Feeney among them — will start a further exodus of sorts on June 30.

The Bluebirds' retained list, expected to be announced next week, will likely see Greg Halford, Brian Murphy, Frederic Gounongbe and Ibrahim Meite depart upon the expiry of their contracts.

Cardiff City players Greg Halford, Junior Hoilett, Aron Gunnarsson and Brian Murphy are among those out of contract at the end of the season

Stars like Lee Tomlin, Anthony Pilkington and Kadeem Harris may leave if the club receive the right cash offer. If not, they will all be handy options in Warnock's squad.

Others such as Lee Camp, Rhys Healey and Stuart O'Keefe will surely depart on loan.

There are new deals on the table for Junior Hoilett and Aron Gunnarsson, with Warnock very keen to hang onto both men.

And there's also the Premier League squad size constraints to consider. Cardiff will have to name a squad of no more than 25 players (excluding homegrown players Under-21) by the transfer deadline on August 9.

O'keefe for me in a top championship midfielder ( of what I have seen )

I think he's fallen unlucky under Warnock as I believe they had a falling out at Palace.

I agree, don't think he'd have left under any other manager. Just fallen foul of the history he's had with Warnock. Pompey fans frustrated as they say he's top class but he's had a couple of injuries so hasn't been able to play much.

Keep our keepers as they are both good enough
# 1 - Etheridge
# 2 - Murphy

Really what makes you think Murphy is good enough to be a premiership keeper? orare you hoping Etheridge doesn't get injured or lose form.

Yeah that post is a bizzare one haha. When you look at every club has at least 2 top class keepers. Even Burnley have 2 England internationals. Murphy will probably be off or will play 3rd choice. We need another keeper to fight with Etheridge.

KEEP
Rhys Healey
Anthony Pilkington
Junior Hoilett
Lee Camp
Danny Ward

SELL
Kadeem Harris
Lee Tomlin
Mathew Connolly
Stuart O'Keefe
Aron Gunnarsson
Matthew Kennedy

It is basically who would you rather, a skilful pacey winger in Junior Hoilett, or a hard tackler in Gunnarsson, I would choose the skilful winger anyday of the week.

And you feel if the club want to have as much money available to Warnock you have to buy 1 and let the other go.

have to agree with you while Murphy has given a good account of himself in my eyes, can we chance him when we lose Etheridge? We need someone good enough to take first spot when his chance comes

Agree, I question Etheridge in the Prem and he's much better than Murphy. So yes, we need a top, top keeper. Talks of Fabianski. Watford linked with a keeper so we could take Gomes off of them. Who knows? We just do need another top class keeper. Pope injured, Heaton comes in for Burnley. Newcastle have about 4 keepers who could start for them, etc.

What are you talking about? It’s not either or. It’s not one can stay and one must go out of those two!

When has it ever been said that it's either Gunnar or Hoilett???? We've offered deals to both of them....

No chance we need a new number 1 and Murphy can go..........

How do you separate a winger from a central midfield player?

Surely Lee Camp has to go? How can he be part of a list that would go out on loan and someone said keep? He's done nothing here and his career has gone  He ain't gonna cut it at any division from league one and down.

Liam ,they did and (according to previous reports) it was pretty serious, so O'Keefe not likely to be at the CCS! :(

Do you know how long he's got left on his contract?

Warnock will probably ship him out for pennies but I reckon we could get at least a million quid

Expires at the end of next season. Won't get more than £1m. He's been injured most of last season.

Definitely need a keeper with Premier League experience. (Fabianski would be ideal)

A vital position where we do need quality. Etheridge was very good towards the end of the season but had a shaky start at City. Would say that he is not a top Premier League keeper at the moment and would learn from having an experienced keeper alongside him.

What’s the point in taking a gamble on such an important position?

We are now playing in the Premier League! out of the 11 players listed I would just keep Hoilett & thank the rest for their efforts at Cardiff City. Would consider Tomlin but although gifted does he have the necessary NW work rate? - Possibly the reason why he couldn’t hold down a place?

He is 100% not a gamble. Played in the Premier League with Arsenal & Swansea and even though EVERY keeper has a mistake in them he has been very consistent and you probably find it difficult to name such a time that he had a nightmare. Just been voted Swansea’s player of the season and that’s not a coincidence.

record holder for conceding 200 prem goals in the least games...not a coincidence...
a mediocre all round keeper might have kept them up...he just retreats and attempts wonder saves..in all fairness is good at them. but at this level more is required

It’s not that easy to get rid of players still under contract ie Camp,O’Keefe and Connelly. Ok no one buys or takes them on loan we are stuck with them unless we pay up their contracts.Thinking we’d get 1m for O’keefe Is ridiculous,Portsmouth didn’t want him,and I doubt whether we’d get rid of these three on a free?

Very harsh on Kads, who was injured most of last season and is certainly worth keeping as a back up winger.

According to Slade O’Keefe was integral for Palace staying up before signing for us. Might do a similar job now, or?
