40million for grealish

Fri Jun 01, 2018 7:38 am

Sky sports have reported aston villa want 40 million for grealish. Where the hell did they get that figure from? Id say 10 max. Warnock if thats the case we should value joe ralls at 35 million not that i would want us to sell him though.

Really, what sky sports are stating is that Villa need to make budget cuts of at least £40m, NOT £40m for grealish, as i stated yesterday very badly worded statement

Bruce has previously stated that he won't listen to anyone who comes in under £40 million. Whether we'll get quite that in the end, I don't know but I'd wager it will end up being over £30 million, probably ending at around £35 million with add ons.

said before id be shocked, but with Leicester now having money to burn it seems like a pretty obvious move

40m,I don't think so.I'll bet they will be tested by an offer but nowhere near 40m.Don't forget there were 3 teams that were promoted without a Grealish.I suppose it depends on weather they need to sell him so they can rebuild a side or not.

Bruce isn't in the driving seat right now, he's in the shit and needs to balance the books, he'll get what he's given and will have to sell. I would play hard ball and unsettle Grealish decent wages in return for a lower fee and drag it out all summer, till Bruce has to take it to get the players he will want

You can't call the shots anymore your likely to be a mid table or below Championship club under tough financial restraint

I think you'll find that more than 1 team will be in for Grealish so it will all boil down to who is prepared to pay what. Who will be most desperate? If Leicester think they can get an alternative from elsewhere that is cheaper then good luck to them. As the window drags on, it will become less of a buyers marketplace.

We will still have the majority of last seasons squad and will certainly be top 6 again (the bookies have already made us favourites) We only spen £2.5 million last summer so I'm not too worried about spending. Besides, if a player has a choice of someone like Forest, Swansea, Albion, or whoever in the Championship or Villa, who do you think he'll choose? We are still the most attractive side to join in the division and still have an advantage when competing for players.

Ryan Woods would go for less than 10. I know where i'd be spending my money.

You could even pick up somebody like Jordon Ibe who is another player better than Grealish.

He isn't as highly rated as AV4 and other Villa fans think.

Ryan Woods plays a completely different position to Grealish.

It doesn't matter what I or other Villa fans think Grealish is worth - It is what the buying club is prepared to pay.

You may get £15m for him, Villa are in the shit re ffp rules and your owner has said himself drastic action needs to be taken, with grealish he will take what he can get, top teams are not going to come in for him as they can see straight through him, he is a diver and although has talent, unless he cuts that out which i cannot see him doing, he will always he an also ran
Ps where did you get the £2.5m from, you spent a lot more than that, and even if you did only spend that, the season before would have took you way over the ffp rules, because it is not over just one season!

For AV3 over the ffp period (3 seasons) you paid out £38m in just one season and the max you can lose is £35 million over three seasons!

Still do not understand how that ref did not send off the snivelling little show pony off for that hideous tackle v Fulham.

He has more grass stains on his backside from falling down than your average rugby player.

Oh and when is he going to get a hair cut; that style has never been.

It's not what we paid out. It is losses.

We effectively spent our parachute payment on transfers in our first season. Last season we bought Elmo & Whelan for about £1mil each and about £.5 mil on the Snodgrass loan. We received around £11 mil in sales.

It's not the transfer fees that place pressure on us regarding FFP as we've not spent as much as most think when you factor in the money received from sales. Villa's problem is the wage bill. That is where the losses come in and where the FFP tightrope is walked.

As you say, we're around £40 million foul of FFP but already Terry and Agbonlahor have left which is £5 million saved on wages straight away. We've also sold two players out on loan on permanent deals which has netted another £5 million. That brings us down to £30 million and we're only at the 1st June. Villa's squad was way too big for a Championship side so will need to be cut to bring further savings. Apart from Grealish and Chester, I can't see many of the side going anywhere because they are not PL quality. This will certainly mean one or both of those two players leaving.

I've no complaints with the way Villa spent their money - It had to be done. The alternative would have been to what we are going to be doing this season in any case so we've not lost anything.

Dream on, just like Leeds you're not famous anymore, you're on the slippery slope down to join the likes of Sunderland.

Players would consider West Brom Stoke and Derby a better option at this moment in time, you have a very important window ahead of you, get it wrong and you're .......... !!!

Aston Villa will reportedly demand £40million for Jack Grealish amid fresh links with interest from Leicester City.

Leicester are understood to have the 22-year-old playmaker on their list of potential targets as they prepare for life without Riyad Mahrez.

Grealish is said to be attracting interest from a number of Premier League clubs after Villa missed out on promotion to the Premier League but Sky Sports report the West Midlands club will want around £40m for an exciting young player with two years left on his contract.

Not surprising. English players are always hugely overpriced. He's prob the hottest English prospect outside the prem so is say In today's market 20m was more realistic

He's only worth what clubs are willing to pay for him and £20m is over priced for a strutting peacock whos main talent lay in winning free kicks :old:
