Report: Neil Warnock in Malaysia to meet with Cardiff City owner Vincent Tan
By Giuseppe Labellarte

Neil Warnock has reportedly flown out to Malaysia to meet Cardiff City owner Vincent Tan for talks on preparing the club ahead of next season's Premier League campaign.

Under the guidance of the veteran manager, the Bluebirds finished the 2017-18 Championship season in second place to secure a place in the top flight next term.

Mr Tan is keen to avoid a repeat of the summer of 2013 when Cardiff spent big fees on unproven foreign players, only for relegation in May 2014 to prompt financial problems.

The report goes on to claim that Warnock wants mainly British-based experienced players with the aim of keeping Cardiff in the Premier League, and that discussions between the two have proven satisfactory for both parties.

The Bluebirds are expected to publish their retained list next week.

Neil Warnock has held discussions with owner Vincent Tan out in Malaysia about how to approach the current transfer window, which is arguably one of the most important in the club's recent history.

Nothing looks to be imminent at this stage although the Bluebirds have nevertheless been linked with moves for several players, with Didier Ndong, Salomon Rondon and Josh Windass all linked recently.

However, there have also been question marks over possible outgoings, with Nottingham Forest seemingly keen on securing a permanent move for midfielder Lee Tomlin.

There's still no word yet on the situation around the contracts of Aron Gunnarsson and Junior Hoilett, both of whom will surely have been identified as potentially key players in Cardiff's bid to stay in the Premier League next season.

Personally I don’t want Gunnar to stay, I would like hoilett to stay as his trickery causes problems for defences and he has prem experience.

Agree also !

Gunner has relied on tough tackling and diving around, now he's started to pick up injuries he won't even be able to do that for much longer, we need better !!!

Totally agree, im concerned if he stays as well he will be one of the key players for Warnock. If Gunner is starting as first choice next season I don't like our chances.
