Bryson going to talk to new manager at Derby before agreeing whether to join us permanently or stay at Derby. Looks like Frank Lampard will take over

If he’s talking to Derby first I’d let him go there.
Not having a pop as his family may be settled but it’s not like he’s irreplaceable.

I know, he's kinda just a work horse. Not really hard to find, I agree. He's not going to change a game. The amount of sitters he missed last season was unreal

I just hope Lampard will love him, sell him a dream, put him on incredible wages and that'll stop him coming here. Unfortunately, I realise that ain't going to happen :banghead:

I could take him or leave him...not desperate for him to stay, not desperate for him to go. He works hard and obviously gets on with the squad. But as mentioned above, he's not irreplaceable

Interesting that, he is 32 in November so if he signed for us it is realistically his last chance of a shot at Premier League Football, if he stays at Derby he can forget it as even if they went up he's unlikely to play for them in the PL in his role at 33.

I'm surprised he wants to speak to them first, would have thought it would have been a no brainer, unless we are not offering as good a contract as DCFC.

Agree with all that but it is his parent club. Likely talking to them first out of respect to them. I'd like to think Tomlin has spoken to NW before going off to Forest permanent.

My bad, of course, that is a no brainer, ill be honest, I thought he was out of contract and a free agent.

In that case, I don't even know why we are talking to him, we need to set our heights higher IMO, rather put the money towards someone else.

He's not going to set the world alight but he'll run for hours and it's handy to have. Anything under £1m and I'd take him in the current market. We could spend £5m and have someone lazy as f**k

Perfect as a sub especially if we need to close a game down. He has to speak to his parent club, he can't have talks with us unless an offer is accepted and if doesn't seem it has. Probably his last contact so he has every right to speak with anyone and everyone. No rush.

I want players who are good enough to be in the team and unlucky to be on the bench as our subs, not players who are just good enough to be a sub

When or if Warnock gets his finger out and brings in some quality midfield players how many starts would Bryson
make for City? Not many I would guess

Personally I hope Lampard takes Gunnarsson but unfortunately I realise that won’t happen as he’s not good enough for Derby, now Bryson, well that’s another story

I would agree but how much is that going to cost, we needed more and better midfielders before we lost Gunner, Grujic and Bryson and even Halford gone does our budget stretch to 4 or 5 quality midfielder starts, how much we thinking 5m a piece which doesn't get you much, that's huge part of the budget gone.

In my opinion someone like Bryson if cheap enough gives you that assurance, very useful from the bench but capable of starting games. For me a big yes for a small fee

Cant agree. I dont want us to buy subs. I want a squad of first-teamers fighting for a starting place

Hmmmmmmm, have you got multi millions to bring these so called first teamers in? Even Man City buy “subs”. Bryson is a squad player and agreed wouldn’t start every game but would be good enough to start certain games, I’d rather Bryson than Gunnarsson put it that way.

Me too, I'd pick Bryson over Gunnar 100% of the time.

Definitely not for the Premier, useful enough for the Champioship as a sub. Of course we've been here before with the experiment with Don Cowie in the Premier and that didn't work. I'd take Gunnar before Bryson any day of the week but I think even he would only be a squad player at best.

Let Man City buy Bryson then, give us all a chance
