Big Ken cut by Denmark for World Cup squad, but Corny survives
Monday 28th May 2018
Among the eight players dropped late on Monday were Southampton midfielder Pierre Emile Hojbjerg, and three surprise newcomers named mid-May: Cardiff City forward Kenneth Zohore, Copenhagen winger Robert Skov and midfielder Mathias Jensen of Denmark's Nordsjaelland.
Nicklas Bendtner of Norway's Rosenborg was included, but there are concerns about the 30-year-old striker.
Bendtner was on Monday forced to leave the pitch before time with what appeared to be a groin injury in a domestic league match against Brann. He was to undergo medical tests on Tuesday.
Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Christian Eriksen, who stood out in Denmark's qualification campaign, was also included.
While Hareide also kept a trio of Bundesliga players: Werder Bremen midfielder Thomas Delaney, Borussia Monchengladbach defender Jannik Vestergaard and forward Yussuf Poulsen of RB Leipzig.

Go and have a nice holiday Ken and then be sharp for next season.

Better for us as he will be more rested when the season starts and no chance of him getting injured during the tournament. As has been said he has not been good enough for us to justify a place in an international team and we were only playing in the second tier too.

He’s not International class yet,I just hope he can hack it in the Premiership, I have my doubts he needs to work harder and learn to head the ball?

Well Cornelius does bang goals in including 1 in a champions league game.

Acorn spent most of the season for us injured. Never really got a real chance.
Shame really.

He has 3 goals since joining Atalanta according to wiki.
8 goals in 19 games for Denmark though so not a surprise he was kept in the squad.
I know I wouldn't swap if I was City though.

When Malky signed Acorn he wasn’t ready for the Premiership, that’s why he changed his tune and then said he was one for the future.Zohore is one for the future but as Warnock must know we want a proven Premiership striker to stay up this year?

With the greatest of respect mate, at 24 and a half years old Zohore can not really be described as 'one for the future'.

its pretty common knowledge that it wasnt not ready..he just was miles away from being good enough..Malky tried to spin it as one for the future..but we are Cardiff City not Real Madrid.and at the time he was our record signing on our biggest ever contract..

This puts it in perspective, we all hope he can cut it in the Premiership, but his International doesn't rate him, I think Warnock will sign a number one Striker ahead of him !!!

He had all the ability. But he's like bothroyd for me. He almost goes through the motions at times.

Not good for Kenneth Zohore but a sort of blessing for the Bluebirds, as he will at least get a rest now!
