“Who should we sign?” Our thoughts, the fans

After a season of the unexpected with Neil Warnock taking us from a relegation position when he came into to a premier league side in just over 18 months. What can’t he do? But the real question is, who do we look to sign?
What should our starting line up look like for the first game of the premier league? Gunnarsson to stay or go? What we all thinking? Surely we must avoid going down the same route as last time.

Personally, Etheridge to stay, the guys been amazing this season and is sure to start at no.1 for us in the premier league, potentially we need to look for a back-up keeper, with Brian Murphy doing the job right now maybe a younger replacement would be an ideal target this summer.

At right back the options of both Lee Peltier and Jazz Richards, although there is no doubting there championship quality, the premier league is a completely different ball game and an area we could look to have a new member of the starting XI. Do we look at the likes of Fosu-Mensah on a loan deal or Manquillo from Newcastle? Or do we keep the experianced right backs?

At Centre Back there are no debates, Morrison, Bamba.
With Manga as cover. Ampadu from Chelsea could be a potential loanee as extra cover with the young Welshman doing well we could seek a permanent deal.

At Left Back we’ve seen Bennet come out of his shell this season and has been playing well, surely he starts for us in the prem?

The midfield, Ralls has been expectional once again this season and has been the on field co-leader with Morrison. Definitely makes a start. Patterson is another player that we’ve all fallen in love with at the City Stadium and he definitely plays just as well, for me as a defending midfielder with excellent work rate.
Our loanees Grujic and Bryson have played well this season with Neil Warnock looking to make Brysons’ deal a permanent one and I can’t see anyone wanting anything different. But we could do with strengthening the midfield, possible bringing in another 3,4 midfielders. Joe Allen could be an option? With years of experience at the top. Another great signing could be that of Maddison from Norwich who has been brilliant this season. Brooks could be another potential signing for us. Or even Luke Freeman from QPR.

There’s no doubt that Mendez-Laing will have a role to play in our squad next season. However with Liam Feeney being our next option surely we should strengthen. Adama troare from Middlesbrough could be asked about? With Stoke City being relagated could we be realistically looking at the likes of Shaqiri?

Upfront, does Zohore start for us in the Premier after 9 goals this season? Personally, I would rather see Warnock bring in another striker. With the speculation of bringing in Rondon from West Brom let’s just say well, we’re basically getting Zohores long lost twin. Dim diolch, we need a prolific goalscorer who’s guaranteed to score you 10-15 goals a season if we want to have a realistic chance of staying up this season. If Villa don’t go up I can’t see why we shouldn’t chase Grabban, another striker we could look at could be Leon Clarke who’s had an excellent goal scoring record this season.

On the other wing, Super Junior, does he stay? With his contract ending in the summer surely he gets it renewed and will play a crucial role in next seasons squad.

What’s your thoughts?

Avge age should be 27/28 yo. Build a Squad that can sustain PL Football for Next few years with the Addition of a few experienced heads who know what the PL survival takes.

Having said that one or two marquee signings would be okbplus a couple of Foreign playmakers

Looking at the Free agents there are not many under 30s out there out of contract in the summer.

Do City have Scouts in France, Holland, Germany, Spain, Italy and; South America?

cb - were looking ok but would want another quality cb in case of injuries etc.

lb - would love to see Fabio back fighting with bennet for that position! (£2m?)

cm - Ryan woods (£4m?)

winger - adama traore would fit our style perfectly!! (£15m?)

st - Charlie Austin would be a top signing (£10m?)
- Aleksander Mitrovic (£15m?)
- Fernando Forestieri (£8m?)

I've tried to be as realistic as possible here without getting carried away. I've given multiple options because obviously we can't sign everyone but have listed them in order of preference. Seeing as we overachieved by winning automatic and top championship players are linked with £20m moves, I genuinely believe we need to be very astute in this transfer window picking up the best available frees but also spending somewhere in the region of £30m-£40m

maybe one or two experienced pl players on loan at cm. Bring back gunners on a reduced contract if he accepts it and he could be a good fringe player to have with his long throws to provide another option when were chasing a game
