CARVALHAL GOING END OF SEASON

Thu May 10, 2018 11:20 am

BBC

Swansea City boss Carlos Carvalhal will leave at the end of the season.

A home loss to Southampton, coupled with Huddersfield's draw at Chelsea, means Swansea are almost certain to be relegated from the Premier League.

The Swans must beat Stoke while Saints lose at Manchester City with a 10-goal swing in Sunday's final round of games to secure an unlikely survival.

Carvalhal is out of contract at the end of the season but had been in talks to remain at the Liberty Stadium.

However, it is understood the Swansea board have decided not to renew Carvalhal's contract after a run of eight games without a win.

did not take him long, knew he was a bad signing for Swansea, because he was struggling with Sheffield Wednesday

Here’s to you Carlos Carvalhal...

That is another shocking decision from them, sack him once relegated fair enough but the chances are saints will get beat Saturday so he’d surely have thought let’s just go for it see what happens. Now if he had any sense he will play the kids and watch them get tanked.

Brilliant he's shit !!!

Talk on their site of all sorts of Managers that wouldn't be interested and Camron Toshack :laughing6:

They are going to be in trouble next season I'm sure, he sounds like a Trollope type mistake!

Be great if Coleman went there to take them to yet another level - League One.

The gypos are talking about a protest on Sunday. But that's all they seem to do, talk. They were quite happy when Carlos won a few games and all was rosy again.

I hope the yanks ignore gonzo's wishes and bring In another Brad Bobbly. Go White Sox!

Carvahal is a solid championship manager imo and didn't really stand a chance with the players he had at Swansea and the crap that Clement left him. He did a good job at Sheffield Wednesday and only struggled with them this season because they had 14 players out with long term injury's. I don't see who they can bring in who'll be any better. If I was them I would look at Dean Smith (who's better than Carvahal) from Brentford who might suit them. But I honestly don't see any decent manager available who would go to that dump atm. They'll probably higher some shit unknown manager be 18th sack him bring someone else in who'll stabilize them and finish 12th.

He done the right thing at the start, made them hard to break down and didn't concede too much when we first took over but kept doing it every game where Huddersfield were taking the game to a lot of teams they played.

Fancy they may appoint from inside the club with maybe Leon Britton with Alan Curtis babysitting him.

I think they are making a mistake but that's their problem. He had to deal with a shocking injury list at Wednesday- much worse than ours- and didn't deserve the sack there. He cant be blamed for taking the Jacks down as they were all but down when he joined. At least he gave them a fighting chance. He knows the Championship well.

You're absolutely right - if they've got any sense they'll move heaven and earth for Dean Smith.

He knows the Championship and even plays nice football like Swansea used to 7 years ago.

The problem they have is that Brentford are a much better prospect next season so the Jacks will have to dig deep money wise.

I doubt the American owners will be willing to do that.

So after appointing Championship managers to do a job for them in the Premiership, they’re now ditching one such manager when they actually find themselves in the Championship? Nutters down there.
