Who should we sell?

Obviously this is a difficult one because everyone has contributed, but wages must be freed up and transfer money made.

I think these will be most likely be out of the door in the summer:

Matt Connolly (another promotion!)

Ibrahim Meite
Lee Tomlin

Omar Bogle

Either one of Jazz and pelts will leave too as neither will be first choice imo.

I think Kennedy, O'keefe, Halford and Fred are out of contract and will be allowed to leave.

Bogle not excelled at Peterboro so expect he'll be allowed to go elsewhere on loan.

Lee Camp not sure how long his contract was but if it continues I'd expect he'll go out on loan if we get no offers.

Same with Connolly who has another year.

Tomlin Forest I'm sure will want him. Not sure they'll want to pay what we want for him.

Kadeem Harris only signed a new contract at the start of this season. Probably move on if we' get a offer although I'd like to see him get a shot at the premier league. Still feel like I haven't seen enough of him to properly judge him even though he seems to have been here for ever.

Meite I don't really know enough about him either. If he's young to still be developing then keep him to see how he progresses.

Rhys Heally I'd try to get him out on loan at Championship level.

I'm not sure I agree with you. Better squad should hopefully lead to further cup progress. The one thing that you can never take away from Swansea is that they've won a cup in living memory. To be honest I'd have preferred to have won one of the cup finals than had the last visit to the premiership although I except I'd in a very small minority wishing that.

I didn't miss a game the year we lost in the fa cup final and It was great.

Look, for my response to this thread I'm going to pretend that this seasons achievements and the bond the players now have doesn't play a part (even though it does) in the teams ability. I'm going to be blunt and basically say who I'd get rid of If I was playing next season on Football Manager 2019 (lol)

Like I said, this doesn't include the obvious fact that these players are huge for the backroom environment and without them our better players may not perform. But I'm talking about Premier league Quality now.

So our first team next season (using the players we currently have) should be:

Mendez-Laing
Tomlin
Ralls
Patterson
Zohore


That leaves us with 13 players. When you consider with those 13 there is only 1 striker, 2 out right central midfielders, and basically 2 wingers. We need alot more. Our defence might be okay with a flexible defender who can play every position in the back line as cover. But everything else needs some upgrading.

With the funds we could get from the 16 players we sell/let go, including transfer funds or wages we save, we should be able to get a solid team of players who are atleast the same quality as Patterson/Mendez-Laing etc.

People talking about spending an arm and a leg on players for 10m...

I'm sorry but we got Patterson & Mendez-Laing for pretty much nothing, we won't even need to spent a million on 2 players. It's about picking the right player and Warnock is the man for that. YES he will and rightly so spend a huge chunk of money like he did on a gamble like Tomlin. He will probably spend about 18 million on a safe bet to atleast make us look better. But I am confident our more influential players next season will be those who have come for little money, possible free's who - like this season - have something to prove, players who haven't had a break for whatever reason, who have been unlucky. Just look at Mendez-Laing & Etheridge's history. Where would they be right now without Warnock?

Wouldn’t argue with any of the above except I’d like to keep Damour as a squad player as I think he’ll improve.
I’d also let Gunnarsson move on in a heartbeat but I think Warnock will try to keep him and offer him a new contract. I hope not though!

I'd probably look to keep Halford and Connolly, both players who will be happy to be out of the squad and won't kick up a fuss but can be drafted in as cover when required. In reality they will get next to no game time but it's that option.
