Fulham Fan in Peace

First off, Congratulations on your promotion!
Its been a long tough season and in the end Cardiff managed to hold their nerve and stay the course. Truth be known, we had a difficult start to the year and only our long unbeaten run brought us back into contention.
Yesterday we bottled it , and quite frankly, as a result didn't deserve automatic promotion. The only silver lining I can see is that if you have to lose, it might as well be to a team who are battling to survive and beat relegation so fair play to Brum for playing so well.
I know Cardiff have had their ups and downs with the owner and his ill fated idea to change some aspects of your cherished heritage, but as far as I can see, that's all in the past now and has been worked out. I can only look on with envy at the celebrations on your board and the great feeling of communal euphoria clearly evident from an outsider looking in. It must be a really great feeling!
The point of this post is to give a tip of the hat. Justice was probably done in the end as you have been battling hard all season and have made tremendous use of the resources at your disposal.
Its great that Cardiff are in the PL next season and I wish you all the best.
For us its back to the nail biting prospect of the playoffs where anything can happen.
Last year's heart ache is still fresh in the mind, but as a club I believe we'll make a good showing of ourselves!
Regardless I think Cardiff and Fulham have shared a season of ups and downs, and the race for the auto spot probably gave us both pretty thrilling end to the regular season's ride!

Thanks for your sporting words Terry, big respect to you.Like many Cardiff fans i have looked at the Fulham forums and press articles and can't believe the bitterness and loathing towards Cardiff City and the way we play.Your fans have come across as arrogant and bitter-at least you have gone against the grain,so thanks again for your good luck message. :bluebird:

Nice awayday Fulham is and I look forward to going back them again.

TBH Terry Cardiff, Wolves and Fulham have given the Championship a brilliant season. The profile of the league must have been raised because it is a true competitive league beyond any other and strangely enough I will miss it, not that I want to come straight back down though.

Fulham have played their part fantastically. The first ever Championship player to gain a PFA nomination, 88 points and finished 3rd! We won the bloody league with less points 5 years ago

You play good style of football although I always maintain we play 'proper football'

Trouble is this league is so competitive you now go into a play off against a side which finished 13 points behind you with absolutely no certainty of beating them (although you have my permission to do so :occasion5: )

Any way good luck

If we played expansive nice on the eye football, of course we moan a little bit if an old-fashioned Pulis/Warnock team pipped us. It's only normal ... no bitterness hope to see Fulham up. A great away day. Great stadium :ayatollah: :ayatollah:

Well most FFC fans are pretty disappointed and many people react differently to the stress and let down.
It probably doesn't help that we didn't go out with a bang , but surrendered with a whimper.
As I said everyone reacts differently and many FFC fans wanted to avoid the pain we felt last year.
Regardless being arrogant and vitriolic doesn't serve anyone least of all yourself.
There isn't any unfairness in the final result as far as I can see.
Over 46 games the team that did the best over the long haul, triumphed.
As for FFC fans who can't take defeat graciously, they aren't the majority.
I'm sure a big let down would bring out the worst in many fans whatever the club.
Anyway, Good luck for next year and wish us luck in the playoffs!

Thanks chap and good post.

The truth is Fulham and Wolves are Premier clubs in waiting so for us to claim an auto spot must go down as one of the greatest achievements since the Premier started and only second to Leicesters title season a couple of years ago.

For me the season will be complete if you go and beat Derby to Wembley.

Ta, Terry. Thank you for your gracious post. It is indeed a rare quality these days for such after the disappointment yesterday brought. Really there were a handful of clubs that should have been points clear at the top and we should have ended about 15th. However football is the game it is because it isn't won or lost on paper. Its been a fascinating season for both of our clubs and i wish you well in the games ahead this month.

The season is 46 games, and Fulham have finished 5 points ahead of the 4th placed side, and 12 points ahead of 5th. There should not be any play offs, if 3 teams are to be promoted it should be the top 3 based on consistency over 46 games. The play offs are a lottery, but no doubt generate large income which seems to be the number one priority in this sport. I'm not bothered who wins the play off final, but Fulham are the side who should be joining us and Wolves next season.

Good luck in the playoffs, it’s harsh that a team so far ahead had to enter a mini tournament for promotion, but that’s life you’ll just have to get on with it.

I think you were a bit lucky if I’m honest that the Mitrovic to Andelct desk fell through as without him you were much further behind us. Anyway you got him and he could make the difference for you in the playoffs!

I’m looking forward to watching them pressure free, and have a feeling that old dog Pulis will win them, but good luck anyway !

Fulham were the best side I've seen this season and finishing comfortably 3rd I suppose they do deserve to go up through the playoffs.

However I really don't like Fulham's arrogant fans who seemed to think they had some devine right to go up automatically. Well guess What? You didn't! Kick and punch Cardiff made it to the Premiership instead. I hope they suffer more heart ache in the playoffs and I shall look on and laugh.

I want to see Rowett's and then Bruce's faces crumpled and dejected; especially that toad Rowett after "snowgate".

I have a sneaking feeling though Pulis will oversee a play off win- which would be unfair given they were not 3rd.

Didn't City finish 3rd and lose to Stoke in the play off's yet finished 6th and beat QPR in the final?

It's not fair but it is the rules when the season starts.
