Most people will look at it and say he is doomed to fail but without stating the obvious it really could go either way and having thought about it I think he will do ok.

You look at Celtic and yes they are in front of everyone else but not by the landslide many people think, they will win it by 10-12 points this year which is a lot but its not a massive amount to make up really and Celtics squad is bang average really lets face it, as is Scottish Football per se. Speaking of which anyone remember Johny Hayes, 6 games he's played, he's got to look at us now with a tinge of regret surely (if we go up).

Rangers have lost 10 games this season, they can easily bridge that gap, I don't think Gerrard needs the money, neither would he want to start his career out in a disaster, I would imagine he has some strong assurances and a decent budget, I would also imagine Klopp is going to send some players up there in the summer on loan, maybe the likes of Woodburn, Brewster, he might even temp the likes of Danny Ings to go up.

It's good for Scottish Football, its not healthy to have one team dominating a League year in year out.

Tend to agree with this, thousands at Ibrox to welcome him today because we’re starved of success and desperate for him to do well. Big Club for his first managerial position but I’m quietly confident he’ll do well. If not we’ll lour NW to Glasgow.

Not the best, but then again we’re talking about a club that signed that gobshite Barton. Hope he does well as he’s scouse, but I dont see this as a fit. Hope to be proved wrong. Way too big a club (and project) as a first mangerial job. Celtic are light years ahead of the gers right now.

You wouldn't get both Severn bridges across that gap.

In fairness, Hayes picked up a broken leg or foot early in the season.

49,940 average this season, when we’ve had nothing to get exited about.

Celtic have won the European Cup and lost in another. Both were in the pressurised knockout system rather than this money grabbing league bollocks we have now. How many English premier or championship teams can boast this ? Jock mentioned the average gate at Rangers who have been through all sorts of shite because of rogues. There is no derby match in England that can hold a candle to Old Firm, period.Admittedly Scottish football has suffered yet to dismiss and take the piss is all to easy.

English teams to have reached/won European Cup -Knockout
Man Utd. 1
Aston Villa 1
Nottingham Forest 2
Liverpool 3
Leeds Utd. 1

That's one of the things that worry me when they still struggle to compete with ABerdeen & Hibs who have much less resources. You know I've no love for the Old Firm but I'd really like to see Rangers get good guys in the boardroom and build properly. King is an imposter along with many of the old guard who reappear over time. They were all part of the mess that led to Craig Whyte but they seem to have gotten off with it because they ousted Green & Ashley.

Gerrard could become a hero there. Would be amusing if he could deliver a league title given he dropped Brenda's Premiership opportunity to be a Scouse hero.

I'm not a fan of the Old Firm (sectaniarism) but they're undoubtedly two huge clubs. I actually quite enjoy Scottish football itself - we've certainly bagged a few decent players over the years. Patterson, Marshall, Super Ken etc.
