I don't like this triumphalism here

Thu May 03, 2018 11:25 am

All we have done is secured a playoff birth

I hate all this talk of stadiums expansion, season tickets prices, segregation , who stays or goes and what constitutes a "plastic"

This is Cardiff City,Wales.

Do i have to point out the long list of last minute disasters we have encountered.

Preston, Blackpool, Romania, Russia, Ireland are so near the surface for me

Calm down everyone

Its hard for some now to get carried away. Not for me though, im more than concerned, im thinking of Sunday as a play of final.

I usually find the fans that get carried away are the ones who are most negative when things don't go well. Or the type to tell me we should give up on top 2 after a loss even though its still in our own hands :banghead:

I just keep remembering its Cardiff City and its the last games of the season so there are always twists

I've been following this club for far too long to get carried away. Can't blame folks for getting excited but I will remain cautiously optimistic hopefully right up to the final whistle on Sunday.

Agreed ...We are not there yet.
At the moment we're just knock knock knocking on the Premiership door!

Guess we should all stay quiet think the worst so if that happens we won't be disappointed?
If we cannot be confident of winning on Sunday when can we be? It's not fact playing a poor reading side that gives to confidence it's fact we have NW as manager and a team that doesn't know when it's beaten that gives fans extreme confidence

And for us older fans you can add Hamburg, Yugoslavia in 1983, Scotland in the World Cup (twice), Watford (1971) as well as more recently Liverpool in the League Cup. If we can do it, it will be the greatest day of my footballing supporting life, even better probably than the night we beat Belgium in Lille.

Was thinking the same to be honest, seem's like a bit of a negative/pointless post to me.

Was watching Skysports football a few minutes ago. Highlights of Championship season 2014-15. Derby home to Reading last match of the season needing a win to make the playoffs. Went 1 down after 2 minutes and lost 3-0! Sent shivers down my spine!

In fairness the OP is trying to be realistic, I bet if all doesn't go well Sunday he won't be throwing his toys out the pram like the ones rebuilding our squad and building a new stand

Agree! Llan's one of the more intelligent and knowledgeable posters on here; he makes a fair point. He certainly doesn't deserve abuse!

Unreserved apology for the abuse Llan, I had a bit of a bad day ysterday which in fact turned me into a tw*t.

Sorry.

A real professional job to be done on Sunday. Don't let emotions get into it, and keep solid like we have all season.

I'd take a 1-0 with a nervy finish now :bluebird:

For all the disasters we have had great times as well, QPR play off final, Euros, the FA Cup final v Portsmouth, ok we lost that one but would not class that as a disaster we got to the bloody FA Cup final, other promotions, if you cant get excited at the moment when can you.

I and most I know are shitting ourselves

We all know we could f**k up but
We also have to be positive

In no way are fans taking reading for granted

Gonna be a tough one

Come on City :bluebird:

If we score early I can see us winning comfortably, outwardly acting cool at the moment as I'm the only Cardiff fan where I live...kack -in it inside Though

Everybody (english media) thinks we will win, but almost to a man(english media again) dont want us promoted .
They all want Fulham to get second , as they don't think they will be successful in the play offs .
So I'm treating,Sunday's game like any other game.
The worse 2 hours of the week ;)
