Wed May 02, 2018 8:59 am

:old: some people on here know me for my views on tan..no one hates him more than me..but if all goes well on sunday and we get to the prem again, what can we say about a chairmen that took us there twice.he tore the heart and soul out off the club with the rebrand ,put fans against fans.and put in millions ,and said if the right offer came in he would sell.....now with the money the prem brings in, how long till he keeps his word and sells.im sure we look a good prospect to some investers I for one wont be sorry to see him go...lets just wait and see for the next chapter in the life of Cardiff city BLOOOOBIRDS

What went on with the rebrand was awful but you've got to put it behind you. I doubt Tan would currently rank in the all time top 20 worst foreign owners of British football clubs.

I think very much we need to move forward now. People make mistakes. We ALL make mistakes. We shouldn't keep being battered for them. He changed us back, appointed a manager that has brought us back together as a club and has us 1 win away from our second promotion to the premier league - both under his watch. It is him that is owed money. We aren't in debt to random small business holders in the area at risk of going under because we haven't paid them. We are still signing players so he is backing the manager. Sure we aren't signing the most expensive ones but plenty of mid table sides signed very expensive players and will finish beneath us if we win or lose on the weekend.

He is quirky sure. Who isn't? Lets get behind the club and that includes vincent tan and hope very much we beat reading.

And who is to say that the next owner would be any good - depending on what defines a good owner. The only clubs that seem to do well from ownership changes are the clubs that were huge in the first place.

Good owners are few and far between and we’ve had plenty of bad ones here. If the re-brand hadn’t happened, there would be no doubt that VT would go down as the best owner we’ve had - he’s stabilised the club, he’s trying to get it on a good footing, he’s put infrastructure in place and he is on the brink of potentially helping deliver two promotions. The re-brand was a cock up of monumental proportions, but it is long gone.

He’s done enough good to make me concernced of what selling us into the unknown would result in so i for one won’t be wishing him out of the door anytime soon.

Hated the red, but completely agree with this. :bluescarf: :bluebird:

Will going up and Tan embracing the blue finally placate those who still hate him for doing it in red?

One thing I hate in life are those in power who backtrack and don't have the decency to admit they made a mistake.

Tan fits right into that mould. He has never apologise for the rebrand and acted in line with what was best for his business mind instead of the feelings of the supporters. A simple statement to say it was a mistake would go a long way. At the moment all I am seeing is how he is buying the fans back.

Agree, I don't think i'll ever forgive Tan no matter how good he may become in the future.
The quicker we get new owners the better for me, even if that means playing league 1 football. :ayatollah:

Tan ain't going anywhere ,people like tan hold on to their assets untill the time is right to make a profit ,they are so rich that they can take the hit to start with for the long game

No one got hurt. People make Tan out to be worse than a mass murderer. He probably know’s deep down, that was the worst business decision he ever made.

Well that is not much to brag about considering previous owners we have had.

So name me one other owner we have had to has brought division between the fans. However much you will stick Tan on a pedestal he will always be known for his re-brand and its disasters it bought.

Tan has kept this club alive when it was on its knees. He's made mistakes and I hated the rebrand, but he has rectified it. It wasn't purely a business decision in my opinion - I think he genuinely realised the strength of feeling; OK it took a while but Rome wasn't built in a day. He himself has said he was badly advised, so give the guy a break and embrace him for having the balls to see he was wrong and change things for the better- we could have some loony like Leeds do where there is no stability and a different manager after every couple of defeats. He trusts Warnock and has let those with more knowledge than himself get on with running the club the past few years. He deserves to be part of what we all hope is a celebration on Sunday too. :bluebird: :bluebird: :bluebird:

He has consistently said the opposite. Like many others, I feel now is the time to move on and give him the credit he deserves - without his money we would have gone under before we got promoted last time. This time is far more special - we have the chance to go to the prem in our beloved blue; what is the point in living in the past? Its not going to change, but the future can...

As above... if it wasn't tan saving the club it would've been some other billionaire or whatever he's worth.

Would it?!!?!

Like Ridsdale or Kumar? Or Short at Sunderland, maybe the board at West Ham, or the ones at Blackburn. Possibly even Evans at Ipswich or the Americans at Swansea.

It’s history - leave it in the past where it belongs. The ones with the problem are the ones holding onto something long gone and rectified out of bitterness.

Just enjoy where we are today, because who knows what’s around the corner.

That's a handful of clubs - You never know really.
It doesn't bother me if we are playing league one or league two football, I would certainly attend more games if Tan was no longer in charge of our club.

Its my opinion, I have been supporting the club long enough so I am fully entitled to it.

I am enjoying this season????

Please have a think about what you're writing.

If you agree that he's one of the best Chairmen we've had then surely you must appreciate all the good things he has done as well as criticise his mistakes.

Samesh Kumar - selling Delany on the cheap. I remember protests in the ground at the time!

Sam - taking the club to the brink of no return!

The riddler - told more fibs than Jim Carrey and creamed money off the Stadium and shopping centre deals.

Tan is the only person in recent history to invest in City and not take every penny possible out of the club!!

We all know he made mistakes but like someone mentioned earlier, be careful what you wish for and for godsake enjoy yourself, we're on the bink of one of the greatest moments in our history!!

What will be, will be with Tan but if he left tomorrow and sold us to a positive owner then these would be the facts.

He's extended our Stadium
Possibly playing prem football.
We play in Blue.
Have a got a manger that the fans want.
Good vale season tickets
Invested over 100mil into the club.

Made a horrible mistake in the past which he has resolved.

If that's his CV then he should & he would go with a lot of gratitude!!
