Top team promoted, 2nd and 3rd dont play in 1st round of games, then 4th team plays 7th and 5th plays 6th only 1 game with the higher finishing team at home, then 2nd plays winner of 4v7 and 3rd plays winner of 5v6 with 2nd and 3rd finishers at home, final being the winners of these games! At least the higher finishers have some advantage being at home in a 1 game shoot out!

If it was in the championship 3rd and 4th wouldn't be involved in 1st round of play offs, and rest for a week while 5th play 8th 5th at home in a 1 game format, same for 6v7, winners then play against 2nd and 3rd with 2nd and 3rd at home in a 1 game shoot out, winners of these games then play in final!

I'm not a fan of play offs at all. As far as I am concerned if you play 46 games as we do, and if three teams are to be promoted, it should be the top three. Never thought it right that a team could finish maybe 15 points adrift of another team, and could still be the side to go up despite being so far behind. Wolves, ourselves and Fulham have been the most consistent sides this season, and I think they should be the teams playing in the PL next season.

Agree totally, only advantage it has you get less meaningless games at the end of the season, especially the new format with more teams trying to get into 7th or 8th place who would have no chance of 2nd or 3rd! Maybe they could do the same at the bottom, then thered be hardly no meaningless games the last few weeks

Play-Offs are for marketing and TV purposes only. A little surprised the Premier League haven’t started a relegation play-off like they do in some Scottish leagues.

Massive game for my fathers team and may i say my second team stockport county vs chorley tommorow night. He took me to my first game at ninian park in the very early 90s even though i was in the away end that was the day i feel in love with bluebirds

Top three up bottom three down Simples, no play off rubbish. the top three teams with highest points go up.
Take for example Championship as it stands, Fulham are 16 points clear of Derby, Fulham deserve to go up in third by means of the points they have accumulated. Play offs just a moNey spinner for FA.

The old First Division did once I went to Chelsea v Boro, sold out, Boro were in Div 2 going up, Chelsea near the bottom of First Division.
Ned, Boro took 10,000 fans to Chelsea, it was unbelievable.

Massive trouble at the game. The 3rd bottom team was involved in play offs with the 3rd, 4th and 5th teams. It all changed when the final became a one legged game at Wembley

It did Gareth.
500 Boro lads walked down Kings road, never been heard of before.
All over London there were battles. Back at Paddighton Chelsea/Boro fought all night.
On the pitch fighting at the end.
