The captain shocked everyone with his remarkably composed finish for Cardiff’s second goal at the KCOM on Saturday.

“I’ve done it in training a few times, but I think I blacked out really having been that high up the field. Ninety-nine-per-cent of the goals I’ve scored in my career have been headers!
“I thought there was a bit of space up thereafter a corner, so I thought I’d get down there to see what happened. Nathaniel Mendez-Laing picked me out and then I chopped in side and curled it past the ‘keeper.
“It was nice to score, but if I hadn’t scored and we’d won then I wouldn’t have minded one bit.”

Terrific finish and great play from NML. What a response to the Derby disappointment. Great lad - stayed with us despite Wednesday sniffing round in the summer and turned into a captain fantastic under NW. One last 90 mins - lets have another brace Mozzarinho!

He has an amazing goal scoring record for a defender, a bit like Steve Bruce, when he was at United. That goal though was such a cool finish.

I can not stand that city commentator who described Morrison doing a Cryuff turn before he scored and he said it three times so it wasn't just a slip of the tongue. A guy in the football media that doesn't know what a Cryuff turn is

That for me shows how good a player Morrison is. There is another thread on here that shows the goal from a Hull fans iphone video in the far end stand. At the time from where we were, I wasn't certain whether he was onside or not, or how we got to that position. I couldn't remember the previous play, was it a corner, Hulls open play attack or what. It clearly shows Morrisons run from inside our area go wide & keep pace with Mendez. But then he stops and stays DEFINITELY just onside as is shown in a still on another thread. How many times have our strikers done similar but run offside. Then the icing was the control, drag back and the coolest finish possible. We are used to him powering home headers from set pieces, but this was something special. Thank you Sean for making our trip to Hull & Back so enjoyable.

Reminded me of Tony Adams scoring for Arsenal years ago in a game that won them the league. No idea how he was up that end of the pitch but a finish a striker would be proud of!

Absolute class finish. It's strange that two of our best goals this season( Bamba at Brentford) have been scored by defenders. And Paterson was signed as a fullback, but has become a goal-scoring midfielder!
