After 50 years of following the city I believe this is the best all round team I have seen,no superstars,no big time Charlie's,just a band of brothers team,I rest my case.

They also have MORE points than the team that won the Championship.

I agree. Always difficult to compare sides who have played at different times, but while there is plenty of team spirit this season, I don't think this side is close to being the best I have seen.

Maybe not the best team but easily the best squad! Every player in squad has played a part

definitely agree. The side which had Boothroyd, Bellamy, Chopra, Whittingham (at his peak), Burke etc was the best footballing side I have seen at the City and should have walked that division. We even had the likes of Ramsey and a young Danny Drinkwater on loan. Unfortunately the League was won by a less talented but more resilient QPR side managed by guess who? !!!

I think it boils down to what your description of the best is.
From the point of view of team spirit, character, doggedness and most importantly points accumulated, I would agree.
If we are talking about which City team played the best football and were capable of thrilling the fans, then the current team wouldn't come close.
I too remember the Don Murray era and that team played some great stuff although after the Toshack sale, there was inevitably a downturn.
Although I never really liked the fella, some of Dave Jones' teams played some wonderful football at times and the Bothroyd/Chopra combo lit up the stadium on many occasions. However I have no doubt that if those teams had the backbone of the current one, we would have accrued more points and nailed promotion before Malky arrived on the scene.

In the 40 yrs I’ve been watching the Bluebirds this is the best defence we have had and team with character. What has amazed me is how we keep getting the results when under pressure.Bamba and Holliet are two of the best players I’ e Seen and would be in my all time 11.I would take Eddie Newton & Dave Bennett over Mendez-Laing and Ralls but as a squad everyone has mucked in including my favourite player Halford.

I’d have to take into consideration the division each team played in at the time - and their final league position - which would dictate the standard of opposition. This would rule out my favourite Eddie May team of the early nineties.
The 1924 team which finished runners up to Huddersfield by just 0.024 of a goal in England’s top tier (closest ever second placed team) would get my vote, purely on that basis. Some might argue that many aspects of the game have improved since then such as the tactical element, but you can only play what’s in front of you. It’s certainly not as physical these days.

I first got hooked during the Don Murray era. It was a pleasure to watch that team that Jimmy Scoular managed.
As I was just a lad I honestly thought we has automatic entry into Europe as we won the Welsh cup so often, always remember the famous Tashkent away game, nobody had heard of the place so the echo published an article and included a map to show us exactly how far the team had to travel! Did anybody out there go! Not sure we were allowed entry?
It's taken 50years but Neil Warnock has made it pleasurable once more

Dave Jones Era was the best for the Bluebirds
Then It has to be Malky
1.Dave Jones Era - Chopra Bothroyd Bellamy Whittigham McNaughton Drinkwater Comminges Joe Ledley
2. Malky Mackay Era - Fraizer Campball Gary Medel Kim Bo Kyung Wilfred Zaha Bellamy Cornelius
3. Solskear Era - Dheali Eikrem Juan Cala Fabio Mecheda Dikgatio Javi Guerra Kenwyne Jones Berget
4. Trollope Era - Declan John Eoin Doyle John Brayford Sammy Ameobi
5. Slade Era - Alex Revell Tony Watt Burgstaller Conor McAleny Velikonjia
Dave Jone was an attacking minded manager
Malky Mackay was a defencive-attacking manager
Solksear was a midfield-attacking manager
Trollope was an attacking manager
Slade was a midfield attacking manager
What do you think ?
