A forum for all things Cardiff City

We've said what has needed to be said recently about Madine's time at Cardiff City. He missed a penalty, he missed a sitter last week, and he's not really done too much to impress.
I am not looking past his assists though I.E that superb header to find Pilkington for our equalizer against Sheffield United, and the assist he made for zohore to finish a few games before that.
Every person who has a pulse knows Madine has not started well at City, but you know what boys, I wouldn't swap him for Lewis Grabban, Fraiser Campbell or Lionel Messi. Why?
HE IS A BLUEBIRD! He hasn't left us for another club (Sure he may leave later in his career), but I believe he will come good. Not this season, Maybe not next season, but look at Pilkington. I've always rated Pilks, and would have played him over Lambert/Zohore/Gonoungbe - atleast earlier in our last season when Trollop was in charge.
Just because they don't play much, doesn't mean you've seen everything.
Now, Zohore is a top championship striker who I believe his best will be shown if and when he plays in the premier league. But before Warnock gave him his well needed talk threatening to sell him back to his club if he doesn't perform, he was abysmal...
My point is Gary Madine may not come good, but he probably will let's be honest. You don't get 8 goals THIS season before December playing for a relegation scrap side if you're not lucky or special.
I think you will all agree with me by accepting he certainly ain't lucky considering his time at City so far...So the latter must be true.
I love Gary Madine even though I think he's had a bad start. Let's get next week sorted with (hopefully with the same team that played today) and then give Ken & Madine a proper pre-season together...hopefully in the prem!
Let's have at you Reading!!!!
COME ON GARY!
COME ON BLUEBIRDS!
COME ON CITY!!!!!!!!!

Never understand it when people say that. Of course they’d make that swap.
Good to make a post in support of a player low on confidence, but find it very hard to believe the OP wouldn’t swap Gary Madine for Lionel Messi.
Can just imagine Barcelona fans saying “Messi is great, but we’re crying out for someone like Gary Madine right now.”

You lost it with the whole swap him bit.
I still think he will turn out OK, we needed something different in the squad and OK it hasn't worked out exactly how we hoped but he has shown he can give us a more physical option.
Let's hope he gets the winner to take us up.

I think I'd prefer to have Gary helping out in a punch up before Messi but maybe not for anything else. Unless, does anyone know if he's any good at plastering?

To everyone who thinks he wouldn't swop him for Messi, don't take him literally, I'm sure he would, it's just a phrase

If we go up by 1 point its money well spent. His performance vs Ipswich was immense.
