I was going mad when he was yelling "Its a Penalty Rob!!!" and then Rob was saying "No its not" as I thought he was saying the ref had awarded a pen the Tw*t. And that conversation about Dawson's brother for Scunthorpe, I mean who the f**K cares?, Seriously, they should take him off commentary and let Nathan Blake, Iwan Roberts or Danny Gabbidon do the color commentating as he's awful.

the bloke is an arsehole, went to halifax on tues night years ago and saw him in the carpark before the game we tried to have a chat but he blanked us, i thought f%^£$k me i just booked a half day off work and travelled half way to scotland and this tw*t can't even say allright to us, thought he was too good for cardiff

Absolutely correct! The Radio Wales (lack of) commentary is abysmal. You are left guessing what's going on with the match while they spout banal "information" about anything not worth caring about. FFS makes me mad!

I used to be a "do something else" guy and wait for the texts, but with the pressure on I have had to listen to the radio, christ its so poor. It really is about distinguishing between our fans and theirs and listening to their reaction before the commentators say whats happening.

I like rob Phillips and if partnered by someone decent it’s usually tidy, and I love call rob, they come out from under every rock for that show its funny as. As far as ratcliffe goes it depends on the game, he is hit and miss.

I thought the exact same thing when he said it - my heart was in my mouth for 15 seconds, he exclaimed it was a penalty as if the ref had awarded it! Awful commentary, doesn't seem to realise it was on the radio and we can't see it hadn't been awarded

You're absolutely right Llan. If I have the misfortune to have to listen to the Radio Wales Football Teletubbies show I always listen out for the crowd response to try to make out what is possibly going on. I genuinely believe it would be more interesting if they had no commentators on at all and just had the sound of the crowd on. It would be more informative that's for sure.

By the way the perfect storm for trying to listen to a match commentary on there is when Ratcliffe is hooked up with a guy called John Hardy. All their commentators are atrocious but this particular brace is in a league of its own. If you're feeling even a teeny bit masochistic at any time I recommend you try it!

It was our title winning season, I remember that season well because it was such a special season. Ratcliffe came in, we started keeping clean sheets and then Phil Stant or Carl Dale pop up at the other end to win it for us. Then Eddie Newton comes in on loan to give us that extra push.

I remember the top of the table clash home to Barnet in front of over 20,000 fans with Cohen Griffith equalising. I remember us winning at Scunthorpe away 3-0 the last game of the season. That era under Eddie May and Rick Wright I will never forget. I never thought I would enjoy a season as much as that one, but this season may beat it.

After saying all that, I'm not 100% that stat is correct, I know we won a load of games in a row after Ratcliffe joined and there was just one draw in amongst it. I said 34 points out of 36, but it could have been 31 out of 33 points taken. It was a hell of a run though and you could easily see the difference Ratcliffe made, which was the point of my post. Ratcliffe was a class apart at Division 4 level back then.
