Players who HAVE to start tomorrow

Fri Apr 27, 2018 10:14 am

Patterson
Zohore
Hoilett
Mendez-Laing
Grujic
Morrison
Bamba
Etheridge
Bennett
Ralls

The other player could be anyone else’s guess, RB up for grabs.

I’d go Manga purely because - despite people’s judgement on his ability there - he was RB for the majority if not all of the games where we had our 8 wins in a row.

I’ve always stuck up for Warnocks selections because I have faith in him, but starting Madine & Ward when they haven’t impressed or played very much previously was absolutely unacceptable when we need to win games and not think about resting players etc. Ken is full of confidence while Madine is not. Mendez Laing is back to his old self okay he has the odd game where he doesn’t get too involved and I actually think Ward has a decent game last week... but Mendez Laing & Zohore should not have been dropped for anyone.

Same with Grujic, we were fine when he was starting with us, since Gunnars has come into it I’m not sure what’s happened, we don’t particukarly LOOK weaker when we play, but maybe it’s a confidence thing with the players, maybe the players have more faith in the team when Grujic plays. But we are definetely not ourselves. Those mistakes last week have not happened all season. The first mistake that lead to a goal began with Gunnarsson. Some of you argue Etheridge should have let it go, but he was comfortable and kept it in with every intention of grabbing it the second time. Gunnarsson just showed his lack of spatial awareness when he cleared that ball, nothing to do with Etheridge. Not only that but he clears it straight to the edge of our box...

Enough about that, I’m just going too deep trying to make my point. Please play the Cardiff City team of 2017/18, not the City Team of gambles that don’t pay off.

Don't think Warnock should have blamed Etheridge as Jerome could have nodded that back into play as we all know some officials decisions are baffling and could have been deemed still in play, He had it covered to grab it but AG panicked IMO.
As for the second goal..... well best nothing said as the boy knew straight away he'd messed up and that affected him for rest of game.
Third. Mozza just bullied out of it.

*Wouldn’t fancy Manga, if he’s up against Harry Wilson. Would prefer Jazz providing he’s fully fit.*
