Warning - This post contains positive content!

Last night - aside from the result - I enjoyed the game as there was a great atmosphere and our team of predominantly “freebies and loans” put in a spirited performance against an expensivly assembled outfit, destined for the Premier League.

The ayatollah was in full flow and it reminded me of the good old days. I was proud to be a Cardiff City fan! Then I read some of the negative comments on this message board...

Let’s try and look at our results in six game blocks, or even better over the course of the entire season, as we currently occupy a promotion place in the second tier of English football. It might provide an element of realism and a timely reminder that things could be a lot worse.

In Warnock we trust?

Positive comments are eagerly anticipated.

It was the manner or defeat that confuddled the emotions last night.

Still 5 points clear with 6 games to go

Those missed penalties were a kick in the teeth, but I’m hoping that once the adrenaline has warn off our fans will see it as you say. 6 games to go and 5 points clear.

I’m sat here watching Norwich V Villa and can’t help but think that a Norwich win or a draw in this game, plus Sheffield Wednesday turning Fulham later would change everyone’s outlook.

If Sheffield Wednesday win, we’ll be in a better position tonight than we were yesterday morning - despite missing two penalties and losing to Wolves - as our nearest promotion rivals (Fulham and Villa) will have one less game to catch us. That equates to a decent percentage of their remaining potential points available at this late stage of the season.

Another positive, providing Fulham lose of course. ;)

Fulham won  only 2pts clear now with a game in hand and Villa away on Tuesday. Its been a great season whatever happens but I reckon Fulham will get auto and we'll finish 3rd. Was really hoping Wednesday would do us a favor with them playing Fulham at home, and I don't see them slipping up against anybody apart from possibly Millwall.

The last round of games rules Aston Villa out realistically, but not mathematically.

Having looked at the remaining fixtures, I can’t see Fulham losing any. I’m hoping Millwall and Birmingham will hold them to a draw, which would give them another 11 points. We are 2 points ahead, but Fulham currently have a slightly superior goal difference.

As a result, we would need 10 points from our remaining 6 games. Where we get the points from is irrelevant, but as a rough guide if we win both our remaining home games (6 points) and draw our remaining 4 away games (4 points), that would be enough.

Unfortunately, looking at our run in and the form Fulham are in, I can uunderstand your 3rd placed prediction, but you never know with Warnock at the helm.

Millwall will beat them. Brentford will be up for it too. They can play some great stuff.

Derby game is key for us now.

If anyone’s going to beat them, a battling Millwall would be my prediction. In the Championship, there’s not many (if any at all) who can match them for quality. A physical approach is the way forward.
