Madine the New scapegoat

Sat Apr 07, 2018 6:32 am

Ffs that's all we need going into last couple of games!!!! Get behind him and the others and stop looking for a scapegoat. Who gives a f**k if we go up or not the only benefit is financial and it won't be our finances so fk it

Fans always look for a scapegoat when things don't go right. It is only natural.

As far as I am concerned Madine has heaped this on himself as he has been awful for us and last night showed it with that missed penalty. I'm now hoping Zohore picks up his game and it is obvious Madine is not up for it. If Zohore can't do it then its up to our attacking midfield players.

That missed penalty has now put the pressure on us and while Madine is in the squad there will be that worrying feeling about for now. We need our players to hold their nerve now and I don't see that coming from Madine.

Why are people not judging hoilett in the same way then?

Agree, at least Madine made Ruddy make a save. Missed penalties happen

Obviously, because Hoilett has shown his quality throughout the season

Yes hope Madine has got more guts than the fans who are losing their grip and looking for someone to blame already after ONE defeat in 14 games.

Players read these boards. Let's show a bit of encouragement and prove that we are a club worth playing for.

Several players are off the pace at the moment, but it's a long long season and as a squad they have been superb.

They deserve our backing. ALL OF THEM.

Just for a few weeks at least.

Madine scored 2 penalties for Bolton this season.

Pressure just got to him.

Hopefully he's the type of player that handles a setback by trying twice as hard?!

Why is it "natural" to scapegoat players???

i always say it, when we lose our fans are shocking.
Madine saved us a point at Sheffield, have people forgot?

Also Madine hit the target, that's all you can ask for a pen.

Also he puts himself about, holds the ball up well. Don't stop running.
Zohore on the other hand, spends more time on the floor. Yet everyone loves him. He got a standing ovation by me when he got subbed yesterday, and he was piss poor.

well said.
Gunnarson shouldn't have played, nothing against him but he isn't match fit. He should have come on like the Burton game. He made a big difference then. Could have been the same.
Madine gets alot of stick off our fans, but over all he impresses me with his qualities. Holds the ball up, out muscles most defenders, wins headers. Ok hes not clinical finish as is Zohore. But everything ive just named is what Zohore needs to become the complete package for a striker.

The big difference between madine and Ken is? Madine is a lot quicker distributing ball when holding ball up and looks for players with knockons , Ken holds it and holds it until it's to late to pass or he falls over and his knockons not as good

Ridiculous post...give the bloke a break..This was an injury time penalty in the powder keg atmosphere of the biggest championship game of the season in front of the biggest crowd for years

At least he had the guts to step forward and take responsibility..how many others did you see offering to take it???

This could have happened to anyone singling out one player is nonsense

It would help that if during this difficult last few games the fans didn't lose their heads!!!

We should be getting behind the team not looking to place the blame..

At least he had the courage to step up and take it. He did'nt try to miss. Don't get this blame culture. He is a City player and we need to be getting behind them at this crucial stage of the season. We have lost one in ten, reading some of the comments anyone would think we are on the verge of relegation. Madine could yet turn out to be a hero, particularly if he scores the goal that takes us up. Our players need support right now, not criticism. Save that for when the season is over and we know where we are playing next season. :bluescarf:

What more can Zohore do with constant hoof ball?

His touch and hold up play have been brilliant with no support, no ball to feet and no chances created for him. Zohore and hoilet are the only two players on the pitch who want to put their foot on the ball.

Madine (and this isn't an opinion based on the penalty miss) is slow and has a poor first touch. He's OK to bring on and hold out for a win but way over priced imo.

Exactly. Holiett has been awesome this season while Madine has gone nothing. Holiett has earned the tolerance while Madine has yet to proved anything.

The guys been here since January and has proved nothing. For the money we paid for him he is turning out to be a failure.

There comes a time where the club needs to admit it has made a mistake, As far as I am concerned Madine should be dropped. The problem I have with that is there is no immediate replacement for him. This now puts pressure on Zohore and the midfield to step up and fill the gap Madine has failed to fill in.

I dont like to hammer our players but Madine offers little and looks like he can't score, hope im wrong
