Are City going to Bottle it

Fri Apr 06, 2018 9:56 pm

Terrible performance against sheff utd but rescued a point

Had the chance twice to rescue a point against Wolves but bottled it.
A Villa defeat could signal a collapse and Fulham could seize the momentum

Would Cardiff be going into the play offs with a bad momentum and bottle it

thoughts ?

No. We didn't show signs of bottling it. Just the usual pen gitters. The fact no one stepped up says they don't practice them.

Dont read too much into it.

No - We lost to the best team in the league with one player who shouldn't even know the championship exists.

Villa will be tough, then the four winnables against teams half on the beach

Lack of planning tonight, Madine shouldn’t have taken one, Pilks should have. Hopefully we are more decisive about the next one.

Hmm.

One penalty taken by a player low on confidence who hasn't looked remotely like scoring for months.

The second by a player who has regularly missed the target (usually blasting over the bar) from inside the box all season.

God help us if we get involved in a penalty shoot out in the play-offs! :o :o

Such an easy word to throw around but the until you play all teams twice you just don’t know where teams deserve to finish. This division is notoriously difficult where on the day any team can beat any other. Just because we have a 5 points gap now doesn’t mean we have the right to finish 2nd. Fulham and played villa and wolves twice, once we have let’s see what the gap is then.

I think we will brush ourselves off and kick ass against villa. there's a reason why wolves are where they are. We just need to concentrate on getting second.

So hard to stay positive after that. Pilkington should have taken the penalty. He was full of confidence after Monday night and was our penalty taker last year? £6m for Madine? Seriously? He’ll only ever remembered for that miss. How the hell do we pick ourselves up after that? Simply, we won’t...

As angry as I was that we lost tonight. We still played decent, reckon we can finish the rest of our games unbeaten

Exactly this. We looked good at times. And we kept them at bay easily. We're not going to face another attack as good as that. Chins up. Go again.

1-1 would've been fair tonight.

Ralls was our penalty taker last year.

Easy to pick yourselves up when the next game is 2nd v 4th away at Villa Park and you've lost 1 in 14, winning 10 and picking up 33 points

They are top for a reason,we are 2nd for a reason.
Warnock is a proven winner,I will love it when we go to Villa and get something.

Still 5 points ahead with a game in hand and only got 6 games left, I think it's difficult to say at this moment.

100% agree. I get Madine trying, because hes a striker. and needs a goal. But for me Pilks was the first one in my mind.

Was gutting walking out of stadium last night. Few people saying we should have had at least a point with the penalties missed, if that Wolves player who rounded Etheridge to an open goal had scored they would have been 2-0 up. Or when they hit the post. Thats football just move onto the next one now no point looking back behind us. We more than give Wolves a game lastnight. Everyone will be celebrating in a few weeks when we go up AUTOMATIC! :bluescarf: :bluebird: :ayatollah:

In a word, no.

I was at Brammel Lane and whilst it was an out of character performance, the team fought to the end and got the point.

We got awarded two penalties last night to a team that has bought promotion and in extra time.

That is the behaviour of a squad who are the polar-opposite of 'bottlers'. They never give up.

We deserved a point last night and as gutted as I was (still am), I'm proud of the club and the superb support we showed last Monday and last night. It really makes a difference.

And I reckon after last night, this squad will be ripping up trees next Tuesday.

Losing 4-1 at home to Sunderland is bottling it.

Losing to top of the league isn’t
