:bluebird: :bluebird: " NEIL WARNOCK TODAY UPDATES CARDIFF CITY FANS " :bluebird: :bluebird:

The main talking points :bluebird: :bluebird:

A summary of what has been covered in Neil Warnock’s pre-Wolves press conference today:

Warnock has responded to THAT Sean Morrison video, condemning the language used and saying he’s “disappointed”

He’s revealed how the Bluebirds players and staff reacted to the EFL team of the year snub

And said Joe Ralls is fighting hard to be fit for the Wolves game

Although Jazz Richards is out for a little longer, Matt Connolly is fit

Warnock voted for Neil Harris for his manager of the season, but lauded Nuno and Wolves’ achievements this term

The early team news :bluebird:

Here’s the early Cardiff City versus Wolves team news then, with both managers facing big calls over central midfielders.

Marko Grujic may drop to the bench if Joe Ralls is deemed fit enough to play for the Bluebirds, while Wolves are expected to bring back Ruben Neves for Alfred N’Diaye in their midfield.

NEIL WARNOCK:

"I asked for a round of applause… I said ‘To do it with you lot, not one of you are in the team of the season! How have we done it?’"

NEIL WARNOCK:

Injuries?

"Jazz will be another couple of weeks, he’s had an operation having his plate out which has caused a problem. But he’s feeling a lot better and might be able to help us in those last few games. Joe was springing around so we don’t know about him at the yet. We’ll have a look at him later today. Connolly is almost fit and back in the pack."

NEIL WARNOCK:

Cardiff the form team?

"We might be the form team but I don’t think we’re favourites, you’d have to say Wolves are favourites. You don’t become the top team in the league without being the best team. I think it’s the challenge of people like Wolves and Villa that we’ve got to revel in. We need to play in front of those atmospheres and welcome it, and push ourselves."

Team of the season?

NEIL WARNOCK:

"As I said to the players, I asked for a round of applause… they didn’t know what I was asking for, it was for me! I said ‘to do it with you lot, not one of you are in the team of the season! How have we done it?’ "

"We’ve got two or three who will feel have been the best in the league by an absolute mile. It’s difficult when you fill the forms in in February and a lot of foreign players probably don’t know who our players are. Sometimes not the best team gets selected, the same with the manager, but you have to go along with the regulations."

Crowds and promotion?

NEIL WARNOCK:

"We’ve got to get the crowds back, which it looks like we are, a big crowd coming tomorrow night and then keep them. I want excitement, the Sheffield United game was quite exciting even though we didn’t play very well. You’ve got to put something on for the public and I’m sure Wolves will as well."

"We’ve already had a remarkable season if you look at the odds, and hopefully in the last six games we can prove we’re up there on merit, we are getting better. It would be a miracle, the best achievement in my career by a mile."

Wolves?

NEIL WARNOCK:

"It’s a fantastic game. We should be on for a very good crowd, if not a record crowd and Friday night on TV. It’s good for Wolves too. We’ve had a dig at some of the money they’ve spent but they’ve had a rough time and all credit to them. We played them once and did quite well against them but I think it’ll be a cracking game, me. I can’t see this one being anything other than entertaining."

" They’ll be at full strength with some very good players, the Portuguese lads have done brilliant and the backbone of the team, the English lads, have revelled in it as well. It’s a great mixture. Our lads are from a different market but we’re looking forward to pitting our wits against them. You’ve got to enjoy nights like this."

Can Cardiff win the league?

NEIL WARNOCK:

"That’s not really a target. We’re looking at another point and we’re definitely in the play-offs and we’re not going to get on a high thinking about what we could do. This game is just the challenge of beating the best side in the league. You guys can think about ‘what if’ but Wolves and Villa, some people might not give us any chance in those games."

Cardiff City Captain Sean Morrison

NEIL WARNOCK ON SEAN MORRISON:

Here’s what Warnock had to say about *that* Sean Morrison video.

You can read the full story here.

“He was apologetic, he said ‘these things are said between was between pals, we’ve known each other for many years’. I’ve seen the (video) they sent us - there’d be more headlines in that if we let that go out. I don’t know why they do it at my age, I’m not on social media, I don’t even know how to switch one on! I don’t understand it but it was in good banter and it was two weeks ago.”

“ I don’t want us to get our own back… let’s move on. Social media is a dangerous thing and they’ve got to be warned about that. It may be just a flippant comment but nothing is sacred these days, it frightens me to death just answering the phone! I’ve had a chat with him and told him I’m disappointed in him. Even if it was in jest between mates, you can’t condone that sort of language and I think he understands that. Let that to be a warning to everyone, you’ve got to be careful.”

A record crowd is anticipated, befitting the match's status as one of the biggest in Cardiff's recent history. The Bluebirds can move within three points of Nuno Espirito Santo's team with a win and make it 14 games unbeaten.

Warnock nominated for manager of the month

Yet another accolade for Neil Warnock! He’s already been named Championship manager of the season and is also among the nominees for March’s manager of the month award, along with Neil Harris, Slavisa Jokanovic and Nuno

Neil Warnock has revealed Joe Ralls has stepped up his recovery from injury ahead of Cardiff City's huge top-of-the-table clash with Wolves on Friday night.

The midfielder has not featured for the Bluebirds since the 1-0 win over Severnside rivals Bristol City at the back end of February while he also sat out the 1-1 draw with Warnock's former employers Sheffield United on Monday night.

Wolves Midfielder admits they are tired.

Wolverhampton Wanderers midfielder Romain Saïss has admitted to the team being “tired” ahead of Friday’s crucnh match against Cardiff City.

The league leaders were held against Hull in midweek and their place at the top of the table is looking a little vulnerable - with Cardiff only six points behind with a game in hand.

Romain Saïss:

"We played against Middlesbrough with nine players against 11 and it was a very hard game again (on Tuesday). I think we were a little tired. We have to think now about the next game on Friday. It’s an important game for us, and after that Wednesday.
It is very important mentally because every player, every team is tired, because the Championship is so long. I think it’s a very difficult league and it makes a difference mentally."

First question is about the passing of former England midfielder Ray Wilkins.

NEIL WARNOCK:

"I’ve worked with him quite a lot with TalkSport etc and seen him for many years. I’ve not met anyone who has a bad word to say about him. When he talked to people, he always saw the good bits in them. Young players, he helped them when they saw them and whenever I dealt with him, he always talked about the good points of my career, and yet he had that winning streak in him and when he went on the pitch, he was a winner. People couldn’t grasp how you can be such gentlemen but also had that burning desire to win inside him."

"We had many a laugh over things in football. I’ve asked if we can have a minute’s applause and I won’t be clapping, I’ll just be thinking. We’ve had social times as well, conversations at 11 o’clock at night and he’ll be sadly missed."

Re: NEIL WARNOCK:

Wolves boss Nuno Espírito Santo?

NEIL WARNOCK:

"I didn’t vote for him as manager of the season, but he’s I think done a great job. I voted for Neil Harris if I’m honest, I think he’s done a remarkable job with very limited resources. But Nuno has done a great job, I know how he feels."

"When I won the league easily with QPR I think Paul Lambert got it at Norwich who spent more money than me - even though we were the ‘moneybags’, so I was a bit peeved. This is the first thing I’ve ever won and it’s great for the lads to know we’re well thought of. I couldn’t have done this without the boys."

Re: BREAKING NEIL WARNOCK:

Snub to give lads an edge?

NEIL WARNOCK:

"The lads don’t need anything like that. There will be banter from some lads ribbing the likes of Sol and Junior, Rallsy has had a good season but is injured at the moment."

"For me they’re all players of the season, Etheridge has improved every game, Bruno is playing out of his ski, Mozza, and Bennett playing the best he’s played, Ken is back to normal since I brought Madine in. The competition has been fabulous and that’s kept us surviving in the top end."

No defender in Team of the Season?

NEIL WARNOCK:

"The players that have got in the team are very good players so you can’t knock that. We are biased and I don’t think there’s been a better centre half than Bamba and not a better wide player than Junior. The main thing is what they do for our team and I’m looking forward to our end of season get-together and see who gets the awards because I wouldn’t like to vote at the minute. And that’s how we are, because we’re over the bridge nobody bothers."

"There’s one or two in that side who are the best in the league, but haven’t had particularly good seasons. Whether that’s because it’s easier to put somebody’s name who you recognise. But I wouldn’t swap many, maybe the odd one."

They've had a day's less rest and have to travel away to us, hopefully, we can take advantage of this, hit them hard and fast right from the start, and we have a strong bench to use for the 2nd half, with most of our players back :ayatollah: :ayatollah: :ayatollah:

N.W. Manager of the season, Manager of the month last month, nominated for Manager of the month this month, and none of our players in the team of the season. They really do not want us to go up & are pinning their hopes on the dreaded curse. :laughing6:
