Attack on Man City coach before Liverpool game leaves Pep Guardiola bemused
The attack on the bus has left it unable to be driven and needing to be replaced for City's return journey
Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola says he "doesn't understand" why his team's coach was attacked outside Anfield before their Champions League tie against Liverpool.
The Spaniard also questioned why the incident was allowed to occur when police "knew it was going to happen".
Liverpool apologised and called the behaviour "completely unacceptable".

No players or staff were injured but two police officers were hurt and the coach was left unsafe to be driven.

Liverpool had asked their supporters "to gather to show their passion and support for the team... in a friendly, respectful and considerate manner".
But as the City coach went past the stadium, a large crowd had gathered outside and cans, bottles and flares were thrown.
Speaking after his side's 3-0 quarter-final first-leg defeat, Guardiola said he "did not expect" the incident to happen and referenced the attack on the Borussia Dortmund's team bus last April, which left defender Marc Bartra injured.
"Normally when the police know it is going to happen, they tried to avoid it from happening," said ex-Barcelona and Bayern Munich boss Guardiola. "So I did not expect it from the Liverpool side, their people.
"One year ago something happened in Dortmund.
"We come here to play football and I don't understand this kind of situation.
"The bus is destroyed but I did not expect a prestigious club like Liverpool doing this kind of thing. It is not Liverpool, it is the people, maybe one, two or three, but hopefully it does not happen again."
Liverpool said in a statement: "We apologise unreservedly to Pep Guardiola, his players, staff and officials caught up in the incident. The priority now is to establish the facts and offer Manchester City whatever support is necessary."

Sadly, this is par for the course for many of the Liverpool support, as we've seen so many times!
Of course, it's never their fault and they're always the victims
I just hope Robbie Fowler puts their rent up...the lot of them!

Here's a link to a video taken from inside the coach. I've had livlier nights out on Barry Island in the 80's. And we were better dressed.

Shows the mentality of Liverpool Football Club !Did they REALLY think the Liverpool fans would applaud the Man City coach as it went passed? very surprised the police didn't try to disperse some of the crowd before the coach arrived. Liverpool fans will probably say "It must have been Man Utd fans dressed up in Liverpool colours, because it's never our fault when there is trouble at a game" Funny thing is when ever there is serious trouble at a football match going back many years, it always involves Liverpool FC!

I always liked their old Carlsberg awayday 'nicking' kit. Three well-drilled scousers could clear out a branch of Sports Direct within minutes.

When the ITV cameras interviewed Vincent Kompany about this he just shrugged his shoulders and said it was nothing.
Yet another minor incident getting blown out of proportion.

It easier to be generous after you have won. Somehow I doubt they would have stayed behind if we had won that day.
As Edmund Burke once commented "The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing." Liverpool fans might not be all thugs but those who weren't did next to nothing to stop what was going on.

interesting to see what the Man City fans do for the 2nd leg .

Attacking team coaches goes on in other sports too.
