The exact amount Cardiff City spent on agents' and intermediaries between February last year and January 2018 has been revealed.
Despite slightly exceeding last year's figure of £1,973,635, new data released by the FA sees the Bluebirds are ranked a modest ninth in the league with an outlay of £2,026,917.
Fellow promotion-chasers Aston Villa lead the way in the league, who spent £5,510,180 on agents even though they were involved in three less transactions than Cardiff City. The transfer of John Terry is likely to be a factor in this.
Two of the three relegated Premier League sides from last season - Sunderland and Middlesbrough - make two of the top five, with Hull City below Cardiff in 11th.
Neil Warnock's side are the ninth biggest spenders in the league, trailing Villa, Sunderland and Middlesbrough, as well as Reading, Birmingham City, Fulham, Norwich City and Derby County.
During the 12 months that the new data concerns, Cardiff have signed the likes of Lee Camp, Neil Etheridge, Nathaniel Mendez-Laing, Callum Paterson, Loic Damour and Lee Tomlin.
There have also been new contracts for Kenneth Zohore, Lee Peltier, Sean Morrison, Sol Bamba and Bruno Manga - which will have also included agents' fees.

Just what do these leaches do for this stupidly high amount of money?
A quick add up shows that more than £42m was paid to agents.
It is hard to imagine that they could possibly do anything which justifies taking such a huge amount of money out of the football league. Just think what a difference £42m would make to youth academies or even ticket prices?
The sooner a way is found to rid football of these parasites the better.

Couldnt agree more, is that 42 million for the Championship alone? Anyone know how much is wasted in the Prem?

I'm more shocked that people aren't complaining about Warnock spending £2million on agents. Why hasn't Tan said anything?
