Alan Pardew gone as West Brom begin hunt for new manager

The former Newcastle United and Crystal Palace boss has been sacked by West Brom after 21 games at the helm

West Brom have parted company with Alan Pardew after less than five months in charge at The Hawthorns.

Pardew took charge of just 21 games after he replaced Tony Pulis in November and has only guided the club to three wins, one of which came in the Premier League.

Defeat to Burnley at the weekend was the final straw and Guochuan Lai has acted with the Baggies rooted to the bottom of the table and 10 points adrift of safety.

Bit late and pointless as he is a good bet for the championship! They will struggle again if not careful :old:

That was my thought, too! :thumbright:

WBA never been the same since Jeremy Peace left. He may have been a horrible man to deal with but he kept his club on a level they'll struggle get back to! :(

PARDEW'S WBA REIGN IN NO'S

West Brom have parted company with manager Alan Pardew, their second change in the dugout this season.

Here we look at Pardew's brief reign in numbers.

21 - games in charge of the club, in all competitions - 18 in the Premier League and three in the FA Cup

1 - league win, 2-0 against Brighton in January. It is their only league win since Aug 19

2 - Pardew's FA Cup wins with the club exceed his tally in the league after Albion saw off Exeter and, remarkably, Liverpool before losing to Southampton

8 - points for West Brom in 18 league games under Pardew, compared to 12 from 14 before he took over

4 - games taken for Albion to score their first goal under Pardew, Gareth Barry's 77th-minute strike in December's loss to Manchester United.

4 - Salomon Rondon finishes as West Brom's leading goalscorer in league games under Pardew. He and Jay Rodriguez have six apiece in all competitions.

50% - half of the team's points this season, 10, came in their first eight games - and seven, or over a third, in their first three.

Rubbish manager, who cant motivate anyone to save his life. I don't see anyone giving him another Premier League job now, as his last 2 jobs at Palace and Wba have been really poor, so i think he'll have to look for a job in the Championship now. Also don't see WBA coming back up next season, as they don't seem to have a strong energetic squad, its just full of old, past it journeymen.

Cant for the life of me understand why they appointed him in the first place

WBA are a shocking team, abysmal in all departments on and off the pitch

Potentially another Sunderland, will need a complete clear out in the Summer

And to think Pardew was touted as the next England manager a few years ago when he was doing an ok job at Newcastle for half a season
