Only for the financial stability of the club, hate the league above, you have top six or so and then the rest. Pity those top six some owned by countries didn't fook off to a European super league. We will have hardly any mid week games due to those elite in euro league action. Thinking about it maybe wed be better off missing out, and enjoy another season in the best league, the Championship!

Go up, spend little and get the club debt free. Then come back down and enjoy another promotion chase

With you all the way. If we go up then no silly spending on players similar to Medal, Acorn or Caulker. I don't want any Premiership journey men who are looking for an easy pay day either.
Keep NW offer the players a massive bonus incentive to stay up and bring in some quality loans or recruit the best of the Championship.
If we get relegated then no crying NW will get us back up and all along we can pay down the debt.

We have to aim for promotion otherwise we'll never tackle our debt. That said I totally agree with you the Championship is a far better league than the PL to watch.

Ideally we can not go up and maybe go down next season and get back to real football with lower crowds of a few thousand but they would be real fans.

As a City fan you want them competing at the highest level possible, it was all the off field stuff that ruined it last time and then the rot set in on the pitch too. Speaking personally I also love the cut and thrust of the Championship but I reckon we have earned the right to go and compete against the big boys now!

I was talking to the wife about this yesterday. She was shocked when I said I'm not too fussed if we go up or not.
I didn't enjoy the year we had in the Premiership, divided team, divided hierarchy and divided fans.
The main thing that sways me that promotion will be a good thing is our Gaffer. He wants it really bad to go down in the anals of history, and deservedly so. I hope we do it for him but as stated, don't overspend, just enjoy it and if we go down so what.

Well must to truthful with all you City fans, myself I can’t wait to go up and beat them JACK BASTARDS

Love the Championship. Don’t want to leave
Not looking forward to paying the away ticket prices for the bigger clubs either. £40 - £50 to go away and get stuffed

Isn’t it no more than £30 for away games in the premier league now whatever team you play?

For me, because of the rebranding issue this will be like the FIRST time City will be competing in the Premier (hopefully). IN BLUE!!!
Yes it will be mighty difficult but this time round we will have a real quality manager who has unfinished business in the Premier so I expect some surprises. His model would be Burnley and that seems to me a sensible approach. If anyone can achieve the unexpected, it's Warnock.
Probably in an ideal world we'd all like to see us challenging atop the Championship every year because we all love the competitiveness of the league. However, as in every sport the goal is to improve your fortunes and status and for that to happen then the Premier had to be embraced. It's such a pity the structure of it is such that it inhibits true open competition. Sooner rather than later it has to change and for my part I'd like Cardiff City to be in the mix when that occurs.

Well said Phil
We need to reduce the debt so I want us to go up and as you say play in our true colour this time ! Also think it would give Warnock the chance to have a proper go at the Premier League having been let down previously
Sat Mar 31, 2018 5:35 pm
Simple for me.ive seen enough championship lower league football with Cardiff city to last a lifetime.it would take me years of watching us in the premier league to get bored .some of the crap I've seen us play in the 80s/90s still gives me nightmares.

For those that say you're not bothered about whether we go up or not, indeed, those of you who also say you'd prefer to stay in the Championship ... where would the club need to be in the Championship exactly for you to be happy and enjoying your football?
... not top two (because you don't want promotion, right?) not in the play-off places (again, we wouldn't want to run the risk of going up via the play-offs, would we?) ... or maybe outside the play-offs/midtable/fighting off relegation, where? because once you've had a season like we're having now, then reverting to treading water somewhere in the Championship is going to be deemed as failiure ... it's certainly not what Neil Warnock entered management for and it's not what the likes of Sol Bamba are about either. Do you think Hull City fans or Nottingham Forest fans are enjoying the Championship this season?
So by that rationale, forget the excitement of getting in a top striker in the transfer window - no, let's just wish for journeymen who can give us some mediocrity instead.

We have to fight to go up. We then have to fight to stay up then we fight for the best players. Then we fight for cups and Europe. Then we fight for the league.
What’s the point if we don’t? A nice Saturday afternoon drinking with your mates while we yell at a man in a black referree kit?
If you want to see what mediocrity and lack of ambition does to a sport have a look at domestic welsh rugby.

If you want to be the best you have to play the best.

I'm of the same opinion as you. I didn't enjoy our year in The Premiership but think it will be much better next year if we get there with NW in charge. No overspending on prima Donnas and we will have players who want to play for us.
And we'll be playing in Blue

If we make it we need to remember its not a level playing field, 14 teams are there to make up the numbers in the FA's money spinner.
The referees are better than the championship and for 26 games they are pretty good, but the 12 against the big 6 are a little one eyed shall we say.
Daft KO times but every game streamed

makes watching Jeff Stellings Super Saturday a thing of the past.
Is every away game £20 ? if so, not bad....
I won't feel like an impostor wearing head to toe in blue but supporting a team in red......
As a club the dosh will do us nicely. Vinny may get a bit more money back, but he has been brilliant in all honesty since our return to the championship and i dont believe Warnock will make the same mistakes as Malky and a 11 year wouldn't make the same mistakes as Ole (the real villain, financially)
It would be fun being back at the top table, but the journey will be better than the destination.

Yes and we know warnock will keep us stable if we go down and buy the right players to come up!

I don't agree .the destination is the only place to be.admittedly we can't compete with the top of the table but the club can give the fans some life long memories like trying to beat teams like man Utd Liverpool and arsenal who shockingly we haven't recorded a sinle victory over for over 50 years!!!.
