" CALLING ALL CARDIFF FANS " :bluebird:

I know most on this site will probably already be going to Burton Home this Friday but anyone who is undecided -

We need you to make the extra effort! Our team needs you in every single match from now u til the end of the season. Not just for Wolves home and Villa away.

The team have proved they are where they on merit and deserve our support. I always believe and I remember Warnock saying in one of his first interviews how much the crowd makes a difference. We need as many as we can get down there cheering the lads on.

The wolves match is important - of course but there are two matches before this and if we lose them it could be nail biting stuff. Let's get down their from this Friday and spur them on! :bluescarf: :bluescarf: :bluescarf:

So sad .we are second in the table and we have to plead with people to go and watch us.never changes with city the opposition it seems has to be a "big name" for us to get a decent crowd regardless of our league position.

You're so right! I can't understand why some people need the "attraction" of "bigger" clubs to watch a football match and support a team. Often matches against lower ranked clubs can be highly entertaining. Unfathomable!

Would be nice to have a big turn out but as long as I enjoy my day (assuming I go) then I don't really care to much to be honest. I know two people who are cherry picking games because they have just bought season tickets for next season, money is unlimited.

Really getting fed up now. I go to about 12 games a season and usually 2 aways. I have to work friday or would be there. People cherry pick the games as we cant all afford all games. I feel we have about 15.000 regular fans and about 15.000 fans who have to choose games they can make or afford hence why we can get big crowds for big games as they will use there cash to go to wolves nstead of burton etc. Fed up of feeling like im being slagged off for not being able to go to every game ffs

Some of us can’t make all the games due to work/family commitments.
As for lacking fans, most of the people I work with “support “ Liverpool, Man Utd etc etc. You only have to see what most football tops kids are wearing to reflect the parents chosen club.
I think it’ll take a few years of premiership games before we get more genuine fans.

The post itself isn't slagging anyone off mate - if you can't go you can't go - no pressure. My aim was to try and get people going who are thinking about it etc. Also getting people fired up for the final lot of matches. I was planning on going to most of the away matches left as well as the home but I'm so gutted as I can't do 1 away match due to illness now! It's really gutting as I've been there watching the club when times have been tough but now have to miss all the aways due to this! This is the only time when I don't mind them being on sky!

Trouble is on here you are preaching to the converted! Tbh it doesn't need highlighting every man and his dog knows our position in league sometimes you've just got to accept our support is mixture of 15k core fans and 10k regulars going when can or to big games. Far as can see its always been same. :old:

Accept what you are saying but when you consider the club has been in the championship for 15 years within easy reach of over a million people is currently 2nd in the table surely its not hoping too much for a minimum of 20000 to turn up per game?.

1m people yes but how many are men and how many are footy fans? As been said there is no history of us having big crowds prior to 2008 except for big games. And 15 yrs in championship doesn't help the crowds

Re: " CALLING ALL CARDIFF FANS "

15 years in the championship is hardly something to rave about is it? Not to mention how many years of playoff failure? Then the one season in the sunshine, that was so wonderful it’s hard to imagine why our latent support isn’t getting all excited about it again. As usual, the clubs non existent commercial or marketing dept are preaching to the wrong people, the converted are probably going if they can make it, it’s the hundreds of thousands of un converted folk who don’t even know there is a game on, who live less than 15 miles, who they need to try and entice to watch Cardiff City F.C.

Funny how they all knew there was a game against villa,Leeds ,and now wolves but totally oblivious to the fact we are playing burton?.
Also I don't know if you noticed not everyone who goes to football is male.

I go t as many games as i can but if im short of cash and can go to one game ofcourse im gonna pick the bigger game on paper and if you were in the same position you would do the same and if you say different your a liar . FACT.
Plus if i cant make a game i 100% listen to the game on radio wales. Just cos we cant go to all the games dont mean we dont support the team . I wish people would get iff there bloody high horse and stop judging. We would all like a fuller stadium and better atmosphere but then again id like a 10 inch cock and millions in the bank but gotta face the reality and just settle that i aint got millions in the bank

Of course loads of people are suffering financially but loads are doing ok also. Sheffield isn't an affluent area but both clubs this season get attendances over 20000 .alas in Cardiff even though we are second in the table it doesn't seem attainable every game.

But the truth is they are bigger clubs than us. We need many years in the top flight to attract more fans

And yet in the Premier League we will get 30,000 plus crowds at higher ticket prices and will treble our away support.

Last time in the Prem We were selling out away games where tickets were £50 a ticket.

In the January we had three away games in 10 days sold all three out.

There are terrible recessions all over the UK from Portsmouth,Grimsby,Plymouth, Boro,Bradford,Sheffield to South Wales and yes sadly this does hurt some people.

Bradford,Pompey,Sheffield United,Plymouth,Bristol Rovers,Luton Town etc are def not bigger clubbers than us,yet they take more away fans than us.

None of them clubs you can not compare with the success we are having this season, compared to where they are.

We just make excuse after excuse.

Yet for Villa and Derby away both not on Saturdays and live on Sky we suddenly take our biggest away supports.

Our biggest home crowds by far.

Leeds,Man City and Wolves home all not on Saturdays, some on the days that most say are the worst days to watch City Friday & Tuesday nights. All live on Sky.

And these are just couple of the excuses that fans said they could not come to games where the clubs were smaller names.

People will come if they want and people will stay away if they want. Don’t see why there’s so many posts like this, just get on with it.

Ill be there :ayatollah: and taking my grandson to his 5th game and my 6 year old grandson to his 1st game, it might only be Burton Albion but he will experience the City for the first time and hopefully he will become bitten by the CCFC voodoo and want more and become a young bluebird now and a future older one. :bluebird: :bluescarf:
