820 tickets sold so far for Sheffield United away

VINCE ALM:
Having a reminisce today about old bank Holiday Fixtures; August bank Holiday Monday in the lower Leagues etc, But 2 of the biggest away followings in the 70s and 80s would be around boxing day or Easter weekend, generally because a lot of them were Derby Matches against Swansea, Plymouth, Newport; but even in the 90s we be lucky to take 150 away most weeks those two dates the away following would be up no matter who we played.
There were some cracking games remember Easter Monday 1983 against Newport decent crowd both going for promotion to the second Division, early kick off at Somerton Park, but there was chaos. As usual they gave us the cromwell road end packed that out, packed most of their grandstand out with City, then the open terrace on the corner where their firm was giving it large, a couple hundred Cardiff managed to get in there! Chaos ensued with the OB losing control, bloody John Aldridge scored the winner for them, and we were singing there is more support with Platex Bras to the Newport Fans (only the over 40s probably remember that one)! Good day out overall and we ended up getting promoted they didn't sold all the players and the decline started for them.
Looks like a decent following off to Sheffield Monday Night
