Wolverhampton Wanderers' links with Jorge Mendes have not bothered Cardiff City boss Neil Warnock.

Wolves ace Matt Doherty spoke exclusively to the Express & Star about recent accusations made towards his club, and highlighted how the fact that Cardiff City boss Neil Warnock has dismissed the claims as nonsense just goes to show that they have done nothing wrong.

Leeds and Aston Villa officials questioned Wolves' links with super agent Jorge Mendes, after an influx of top talent arrived at Molineux in the summer.

The Black Country outfit have subsequently gone on to comfortably top the Championship table, and currently hold a 13 point lead over third placed Fulham, with promotion to the Premier League seemingly just a matter of time.

Doherty, 26, spoke exclusively to the Express & Star about the accusations made regarding Wolves' links with Mendes, highlighting Warnock's lack of action as a sure sign that they have operated entirely within the rules:

"We know what the deal is, we know there is nothing going on. Some of the stuff they’re complaining about is pathetic really. Even Neil Warnock came out and backed us up and he would be one you’d think would be firmly on top of it."

Next up for Nuno's men is a trip to Middlesbrough on March 30th, before they play host to Hull City four days later, and a return of six points from those matches could be enough to secure their place inside the top two, should results elsewhere go their way.
