Unfortunately, we need a few more. 17 points and we could do it on goal difference, but 18 points would make certain.

Both Villa and Fulham have 8 games remaining and can gain a maximum of 24 points. Minus the 7 points we’re ahead equals 17.

Every point that they fail to gain short of the maximum 24 can be deducted from the 18 we need to be certain, therefore your prediction of 12 (bearing in mind we’re currently 7 ahead) for us from our remaining 9 games might be enough.

I’m sure Warnocks tactics will be influenced by this in the later stages of certain games deemed as difficult, as on occasions a draw will be suffice as opposed to risking everything and getting caught on the counter attack leading to defeat.

I have thought for some time now that whoever can reach 91 points will be playing in the top flight next season.
